I wonder if Poles could squeeze the #20 pick out of the Steelers for Fields. Arthur Smith does love to run the ball and Fields does help a run-based offense.
I think that would be very possible.

Bears draft Williams at #1, then package #9 and #20 (Steelers) to get MHJ.

Boom.
If you were the team with #3/#4, would you trade Harrison Jr. for Odunze (maybe) and Nate Wiggins or something like that? Probably not.

You yourself have acknowledged I was being sarcastic with my comment...now youre trying to claim it wasnt and that i am falsely claiming that it was. well, which is it numbnuts?? :poop:

so you know i was being sarcastic but you still are super mad about it? got ya! you and dong bears make a cute couple!
I said it to not make you feel bad, but I didn't personally believe that. I mean you defended the point in like five straight posts afterwards and are still yammering about it to this exact moment(good joke haha?). It was a stupid thing to say, and im sorry you didn't think before you typed it. Thanks! 🙉🫡

I'd toss in a later round pick to even things out if need be. You could then trade down from #20 to recoup a couple more picks if you wanted, or just spend #20 on a guy you really like and add 3 first rounders to your roster, including Williams.

Tomlin has never had a losing season so part of the issue is the Steelers have never been in position to take a QB in the top 10.

Kenny Pickett is not a top 10 QB. He was picked 20th in the worst QB draft in decades.

So not sure the past 15 years proves much of anything. For all we know he had CJ Stroud as the top QB in this past draft but because he has never had a losing season he was never in position to draft him.

Yeah I'm not seeing this. Okay so then you have Pickett, Rudolph and Fields. Who is starting? I don't think they gave up on Pickett yet, and Mason Rudolph did well late in year, arguably better than Fields. I do not see them giving up that pick to make a 3 man competition.

You sound more sold on Caleb than I am, but in this hypothetical I’m not throwing in a later pick to a desperate Steelers team. Well, maybe a 6th or 7th but nothing higher than that.

At #20, I’d be more inclined to stay pat unless they can trade down like 8-10 spots and pick up a 2nd…but odds are they could add a really good player at #20.

Fields would start. No question. The fact that they’re looking to bring in “competition” tells me they’re moving on from Pickett as they should. You don’t bring in competition at QB if you’re sold on the guy you drafted in the 1st round.

This may be a crazy idea so please CCS tell me what an idiot I am for proposing this....

But what if Fields and CW are BOTH good?

What if Poles is a big fan of BOTH of them?

And what if Poles just thinks CW is better?

Stupid stupid I know.....
**** you

We shall see. I personally put very little meaning to any of the artcles, podcasts and radio station theories and rumors. And I think Fields will draw a 2025 1st or a 2024 second. Or he is right here on the Bears. I just think if the Steelers make a move at QB it will be a bigger splash than "competition".

Also, Arthur Smith input will be influential.

I'd rather keep 9 and 20 and roll the dice on one of Odunze, Bowers, or Nabers being there at 9. If they're not, trade back a little.

Can still potentially get Brian Thomas Jr. in that scenario
I'm just ready for a big splash. Don't follow college ball too much. Would just love to see Bears go offense heavy is all.

Yep, we’ll see for sure. Schefter believes the bears can get a 1st but we’ll see what happens if they go that route. Considering what Rosen and darnold fetched, I’m inclined to agree with Schefter
