Tim McKay!! The spin move! Dude's still looking for his ankles!
Yeah, Ahmed Hassanein embarrassed him and won every rep he had. Projected as a late round pick, could be a find.
Trey Wedig IU OT looked like complete ass.

I think Walker has the athleticism to be something like an Akiem Hicks type player. Not saying he will, but he is really explosive for a guy that size. I see Grant as more of a Travis Jones type player but with more upside. But I think showing some pass rush in one on ones could really help boost his stock.
I'm a big Walker guy and absolutely think he can be a A.Hicks type and maybe even better.

I'm on the Nolan bus. Nolan fits every criteria

Need
Talent/technique
Production
Scheme fit
RAS Score (for what it's worth Nolan is going to crush the RAS)

IMO Nolan is the second best defensive line prospect in this class behind Carter.

If by some chance Williams is better than Nolan, in the eyes of NFL GMs, then God bless him because he won't be on the board at #10

The Bears already have a space eating DT with Billings, now they need a true and complete GAP shooter like Nolan who is every bit as good against the run as he is as a quick twitch pass rusher.
Do you see Billings as a starter on a great team though or do you think he can start but would be better as a backup? I like him but not sure he's a starter if you want a great defense. I do like him and would have no problem with him as our starter next year.

A mock from The Athletic this morning:

“10. Chicago Bears: Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas

Chicago spent the No. 1 pick last year on quarterback Caleb Williams … then promptly gave up 68 sacks this season. For Williams to make strides under new coach and offensive guru Ben Johnson, the Bears need to improve up front.
Banks (6-foot-4, 320 pounds) won the Outland Trophy as the nation’s top interior lineman and has positional flexibility. The Bears need a plug-and-play offensive lineman in the worst way, and Banks will start somewhere on day one.

39. Chicago Bears (from CAR): Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan

41. Chicago Bears: Wyatt Milum, iOL/OT, West Virginia”

2025 NFL Mock Draft: How many QBs in Rounds 1-2? Could Abdul Carter be Titans’ top pick?2025 NFL Mock Draft: How many QBs in Rounds 1-2? Could Abdul Carter be Titans’ top pick?

Not bad in my opinion. Just fortify both lines in free agency and the draft. Get a vet safety too.
Couldn't be mad at that outcome from our first 3 picks. Definitely the positions.

You havent liked dexter at DT/3T since day 1.

DT's take a lot longer than 2 years to develop. Look at how most of the top DT's in the league performed in their 2nd year in the nfl. Dexter is on pace or outperforming them.

Dexter looks like he can be a very good player. I'm not comparing him to carter, carter is a better player, I was pointing out that he's not terrible at 3 technique like you think he is.

I'm not against drafting another DT but its prob like the 5th highest need right now on this roster(if that). You certainly need a rotational piece but Billings and Dexter were both playing very well together prior to the injury
I like Dexter but i think it's time for you to stop with the Dexter is better than Carter take you've been on since the beginning. He's not better and i really don't think it's all that close. Lets just hope Dexter keeps working on getting better and succeeds at it. Getting him better help around him should help.

DLine rotates - Gervon plays 60-70% and looked like he may have been running on fumes at the end of the season, Billings played about 60% and should probably play less as well. Bears need a better DT3 than Zacch Pickens and there’s more snaps available than 1 guy can fill across both tackle spots.

It doesn’t necessarily need to be the FRP (I personally prefer that though) but getting a guy who can play next to Dexter and Billings allows you to limit the amount you play both in unfavorable situations. IE Dexter on obvious run downs and Billings on obvious pass downs. You’re not giving up on either player by drafting a DT, you’re giving up on Pickens and moving Williams/Cowart to depth which are all smart moves. Just my 2 cents.

Yep. I think they need to sign a cheap clogger to back up Billings and then get more of a disruptor with one of the first three picks. Pickens isn't NFL level, a pick I disliked from the get go. They also have Walker who can play some 3T in short stints.

I wouldn’t be opposed if they re-signed Shelton on a 1-2 year deal and drafted Grey Zabel in the 2nd

Add in a power running back in the third.
They need speed much more than a power back. Johnson’s success rate was way above average on short yardage. Problem is what happens if he gets another concussion?

Walter Nolen at 10, Zabel at 39 and DE at 41 needs to be the plan. I would love it if played out that way.

They have a speedback, who rarely breaks tackles, in Swift. What they need is a complete back who can make the short yards when needed as well as break the long ones with speed and elusiveness. There will be several available in the second through 5th rounds. Roshon is barely NFL quality and will be gone when his contract ends.

TE Jalin Conyers, Texas Tech
While Jalin Conyers only saw 40 targets this season with the Red Raiders, he has all of the makings of one of those rare players who has a better NFL career than college one. Not only was Conyers strong in every phase as a receiver, including after the catch, but he was a vocal leader as well.

You could hear Conyers all week directing the other tight ends who had questions about protections and play calls. He took the week seriously and it showed on the field. Not only is he one of the biggest tight ends in the class, but moves well at his size.

Yup this tidbit that I found above checks out.

What they need is an offensive line that can consistently sustain blocks not miss blocks and can move LOS a yard down the field more often than they have.

Never said that but okay

I have said dexter has shown plenty of flashes, is younger than carter, and has potential to develop into a very good to great DT as well. Most DT's dont become probowlers in 2 years. Look at what the top DT's in the league did in year 2 vs. dexter.

Again, dexter had a higher pressure rate than carter. That isnt debatable, its an actual stat based on total pressures vs. snaps

Before billings went down, dexter looked like he was going to have a great fringe probowl year.

Dexter was a top 3 player on this defense last year. People should be very high on him. If you watched carter all year you'd see plenty of games where he disappeared too, especially early in the year

They can do both. Concentrate on the offensive line in free agency and the draft and upgrade the RB position. They are not mutually exclusive.

What offensive lineman do you expect to make it to the open market that's any good?
