I like Iguodala, especially over Deng, which brings me to my point. I would rather have Iguodala at sf and let Deng go if at all possible. Unless Deng can expand his range to 3pt on a regular basis, I don't think he is a good fit offensively. Iguodala and Mayo???? That is more like it...

I meant together. Iggy at SG, Deng at SF. I don't think anyone takes Deng and see no way of getting Mayo. Though if your open to Mayo, I am surprised you are dead set against BG.

Oh well so much for my theory that with Ben and Kirk both gone and the 2010 plan in the past that Bulls fans would no longer have an religious wars left.

I got no problem with signing Kover for that deal. I think we need a legit starting sg if we really plan to contend. I really think trading our cap space for Iggy and signing Kover would have diversified our team much more and made it better overall. You could always get a backup pg that is a shooter too but realistically, we aren't going to really play Reddick and kover on the wings together much.

We allegedly tried to get Iggy and the 76ers said no. They didn't want Deng + Gibson for him. They're probably not just going to dump him for cap space, they don't have that much salary on board going forward.

And I'm not really convinced that Redick/Deng is much different to Iggy/Korver as a combo anyway.

In other news Morrow hasn't actually signed the offer with the Nets yet, so that's still a possibility if we think Redick will be matched.

Quite clearly they would prefer an overpaid and often injured sf to nothing or some cash and a pic. What was I thinking?

There are a ton of teams now with cap space or trade exceptions, if they wanted to dump AI for nothing they could. That they haven't done so suggests they're probably not interested right now. They're not a tax risk, so why dump their best player for nothing?

They did just draft someone who plays very similar to him but if not him, there has to be somone else.

I wonder if we can just go get Ronnie Brewer anyway just to be a defensive specialist regardless of whether or not Redick gets matched. Raja Bell remains an option (maybe a 1 or 2 year deal?) as does Matt Barnes. Perhaps we could go for a combo guard to have someone to back up Rose other than someone like Acie Law. Nate Robinson seems intriguing to me now, as does maybe Jordan Farmar.

We are going to need more than one playmaker. AI would be a good fit. He is a good defender, rebounder and can run with rose. I think we will grind it out and break more than be in the half court set.

Of course I'd like Iggy, he has only missed 6 games in 6 years and he's about the same level of player as Deng but Iggy's skill set might be a better fit. But if we get him it has to be at the expense of Deng. We can't roll with Rose/Iggy/Deng.

If we got LeBron or Wade then sure, we could make do without three point shooting and still be a good offense. As soon as we missed out we had to bring shooters into the lineup.

The problem is going to be that nobody is going to just gift us players because we want to beat the Heat. Getting something for nothing will be impossible, I haven't checked the exact numbers but around 1/3 of the league have cap space or trade exceptions to help them absorb contracts right now. If a guy like Iggy or Granger becomes available the bidding will be fierce.

I think you could go with a Rose, Iggy, Deng starting 3 because they will find a mismatch and you have a shooter in korver off the bench who can spread the floor if needed.

I don't think its so hard. A lot of teams don't want to add big long term deals. The bulls have let quite a few trade exemption pass without use in the past. Its not really gifting either. We paid a pick to get rid of Kirk. There are teams who will want to cut payroll or get out of deals.

Bulls can't walk out on that court expecting one of the two new shooters to defend Mayo, Johnson, Turner, Bryant, who whatever athlete, athetic off-guard. That's a content move. I don't see us getting out the first-round without a solid defender at Shooting Guard.

I just don't see how the Bulls can call it a successful off-season if we actually downgrade our three point shooting from last year, when we were bottom three in both makes and percentage.

The fact is the 76ers have given no indication that Iggy is available and the speculation is all based on them drafting someone who plays a similar position. Turner has looked awful in summer league and is no threat to push Iggy into a lesser role right now. I think they sit tight and see how it develops for a year unless they get an offer that blows them away.

if we got rid of deng and got a shoooter i'd prefer ai to deng. bring a defensive sf off the bench to guard the lequeens.

agreed. we have nothing to offer we're in a contend now mode, so if we have good players, we dont want to get rid of them.

Another guy that had been talked about a little is gone, Childress S&T to the Suns. To make room they send Barbosa to the Raptors for Hedo. Strange move, they're going to start Hedo as their PF by the looks of things ...

Well dang, I would've liked Childress. I'm not even sure if we'd have the money to sign him though. Hedo at PF will be interesting to see. Perhaps the Suns are trying to pull a new version of the Nash/Johnson/Marion/Stoudamire/Diaw lineup they had a few years back. Small and quick.

I think it's the Raptors who are trying to re-create the Suns, apparently they're going to use part of their trade exception on Diaw.

I guess there must be some sort of pressure to put some wins on the board, you'd think you'd be looking to rebuild after losing Bosh.
