Here's a trade I would highly consider:

Carlos Boozer to PHX for Vince Carter.

Bulls:
Derrick Rose, C.J. Watson
Vince Carter, Kyle Korver
Luol Deng, Ronnie Brewer
Taj Gibson
Joakim Noah, Omer Asik, (Kurt Thomas?)

I'd much rather have Boozer than Vince...

actually, I wouldn't mind if this happened:

Since J. Rich is a free agent, Orlando would have to sign and trade him. Give him like a 4 year 36 million dollar contract and trade him along with either Q. Rich or Brandon Bass [to make salaries match] to the Bulls for Boozer and a first round pick.

I think that could work for both teams.

At this point I'm pretty sure Vince is worse than Boozer. I'll pass.

This trade intrigues me, but we'd have to get a backup for Gibson afterwards (unless we get Bass in the deal). The only potential issue I see is that Richardson is getting up there in age, so he'd really only be effective short term. But I'm not picky, if we can get JRich, I'll be pretty happy.

yeah, age is the only thing with J rich. But it's not like he's 35 haha. Only 30. And one things that doesn't go away with age is shooting, and that's something Richardson can do.

Had no idea those two were close...but just think about it...if Howard is actually close with Boozer, and he is cool with Rose, why wouldn't he come to Chicago?

What would you think of a package of Deng/Noah/picks for Dwight?

Vincanity is on a team option, that any team in their right mind would decline anyways. Only reason we would o that is to decline the option and open up cap space.

I like that deal personally...then getting someone like Battier as a free agent to play the 3 and shoot 3s wouldn't hurt. Boozer becomes your 3rd option and Howard, who is the best defender in basketball, would make up for any faults in Boozer's game defensively.

Very true, but the age thing does affect everything else like athleticism (which reduces Richardson to nothing but a shooter in the last year of his contract possible, which may not be a bad thing, but defensively it'll hurt). Again, I'd be perfectly fine if we got Richardson, I'm just being nitpicky. xD

To me, this would be a significant improvement. Granted a guy like Battier is not anywhere near the scorer than Deng is, but he would provide at least the same amount of defense and combined with Howard, we'd be so good defensively, that the offensive dropoff wouldn't matter too much. If we could maybe swing a deal for Afflalo or Lee after that, I think we beat the Heat for sure.

You lose nothing offensively in that scenario. Howard is a center that can score 22ppg. And he would be the best player on the team. He is a better scorer than Deng. Battier supplies the 3pt shooting accuracy and great perimeter defense...now if you keep Taj and Asik with the rest of the group...or get Crawford or Smith in some kind of sign and trade...you have a championship team for the next 3-5 years. Let's not forget that Jason Terry is 34 years old, and Crawford is on his level when it comes to scoring and ball handling. It will be interesting this summer...

It'd be more interesting if I thought there'd be basketball this fall :(

I meant dropoff at the SF position, but yes Howard would more than compensate. I would think that between Rose and Howard, our overall ppg would increase just because Rose wouldn't be forced to shoot as many crappy shots since he could just dump the ball into Howard and go from there. I completely agree that if we can manage to keep most of the bench mob and then swing a deal for a scoring SG, that we'd be in championship position for a good amount of years. We wouldn't have to worry about being an underdog to Miami for most of it. At least we'd be even. This would be a great situation for us, and I really hope that we can pull off a miracle and make it happen, but I'd be willing to settle for just the SG since for whatever reason Howard doesn't want to come here. And I think we'd have to give up more than Deng and Noah in a deal since they'd make us take back Turkoglu or Arenas I would think. Who knows? But first, I'd like to see this CBA thing clear up. It'll make it a lot easier to determine what kind of moves we can make.

I'm in the camp of do whatever it takes to get Howard in a Bulls jersey. Rose is the only untradeable player on the Bulls in my opinion but if Boozer and Howard are as close as advertised, then do what you can to keep Boozer around.

That's why you replace Boozer in the package with Deng, who might be a more attractive trade piece anyways. Also, we would have to take back a contract odds are to make the money match, so that would probably be Hedo.

No way is Boozer a more attractive asset than Deng to Orlando right now.
