Is Chandler a impending FA, if so the Bulls still get a ton of cap relief going forward, while improving the scoring from the 2 guard spot.

There's no way Denver loses Afflalo now.

Yeah, I think you're right about Afflalo. It would take a sign-and-trade to pull off any deal like the one I described so it is sketchy at best.

He's 6'8" so he's a tweener, but even if the Bulls pull off the trade with Denver, Chandler could be the 6th man and Taj could start. I like the fact of getting rid of Boozer's contract.

He may be 6'8, but he doesn't play like a PF. If anything, he's better at playing SG. Like T-Mac... who is also 6'8 but played SG and SF.

Dang didn't know McGrady was that tall. Boozer and Deng are 6'9" so the height lost with Boozer is minimal, the thing the Bulls would lose is a banger and a guy who can finish with both hands. :smug:

Yeah, it has its downside. He is a very good shot blocker and he's played the position a lot as a Knick. But we all know their defensive ability. It would be useful as a up-tempo/small ball line-up though.

yeah, but when he was with the Knicks, he was most effective as a SG and SF. My friend Tony lives in NY and can tell you anything you wanna know about the knicks, and he has always said that Wilson Chandler is great at playing SG/SF and shouldn't play PF.

if we went really small, maybe he could play some PF... but his style is more of a SG/SF.

Yeah, it would admittedly be Luol Deng who would need to play downlow if that happened. You're right.

Wilson Chandler would be nice to have though.

Good 6th man kinda guy and someone I would trust to come in for Deng/whoever our SG would be if one of them got injured.

The thing with getting Boozer, he was signed after Bosh and Wade decided to team up in Miami. The Bulls thought Lebron would be more likely to come and team up with Boozer again. We know how the rest turned out. Hindsights 20/20, but I wonder if the Bulls knew that the Big 3 had a handshake deal in 2008, if the Bulls offer Johnson max money.

The Bulls got screwed by Wade, Bosh and mostly LBJ in a way.

They waited so long for them to make up their minds, that they weren't able to go after other guys.... Joe Johnson, Amar'e, etc.

Those guys got huge deals... bigger than what the Bulls would have offered. But if we had talked to those guys before they got offered those big deals, maybe we could have talked them into signing witht he Bulls.

I'm just pissed that we only came away with Boozer in what was probably the best free agent class of all time. I'm also pissed that we were thought to be the hot landing spot in free agency... and we didn't get Wade, LBJ, Bosh, JJ or amar'e....

Another thing I shrugged off during the season, but could the Bulls be the Utah Jazz of the East. Great PG, Brewer Boozer and Korver. Granted, I think the Bulls supporting cast is better than Utah's ever was, but Miami is better than any team the Jazz faced in the West.

Yes. Let me repharase a little, Miami has more talent than those Laker teams 2-5 yrs. ago. So yes, Miami is better.

I don't lose sleep over Stoudemire and Johnson. Amare wanted to go to NY and that's where he was always going to go. Johnson was signed right away by Atlanta for ridiculous money. He was going to end up back there anyway.

Wade is the one who really screwed us no matter which way you look at it. If he picks Chicago then we also have Bosh instead of Boozer and Miami probably would have been the worst team in the NBA last year.

hmmm... idk. Let's just look at last season when Utah got swepped by LA.

Gasol is better than Bosh. better rebounder, better passer and more efficient.

Kobe is better than Wade. Very close, but Kobe was just better.

and LBJ is better than Artest.

Then LA had Odom and Bynum. 2 very solid players and a clutch vet in Fisher. Miami has Haslem, Miller, Bibby and chalmers... who are all very streaky, and some don't even play much.

idk... it's close. But I would have to give it to LA... especially since they were able to win it all and MIa wasn't

I'm pretty sure Wade would have been a nice fit alongside Rose. Wade, unlike LeBron, plays excellent off the ball.

I think Rose would have averaged about 20 points and 8 assists still, while Wade had like 27, 5, and 5.

I'd go with yes. I believe Johnson wanted to come to Chicago, but couldn't turn down the money from Atlanta thrown at him on day 1. If we had Johnson and Boozer (granted we'd lose the whole bench pretty much) I'd say we beat the Heat. We might not win 62 games, but I think we could've beaten the Heat. As for Dallas...I have no idea. I'd say we lose in 7.

And then I'd say the league does something about the big 3 because of the whole tampering rule thing. At that point no one would've cared about Lebron's decision or anything because it would've been known already. It may have even been prevented. But no use complaining about it now.

I would agree with this. However, even in Denver he averaged over a block per game. Relatively small sample size, but I would say overall he's a solid defender for the SF position. In a small ball lineup, I can definitely see him at PF/SF kind of alternating with Deng. Actually, a Noah, Chandler, Deng, Smith, Rose lineup isn't that small. It's lacking in strength. I would rather see Noah, Taj, Deng, Smith, Rose as the starters. Chandler would be a really good 6th man for us imo. Or if Smith ends up being the nutcase we believe him to be we could start Chandler at SG if we had to. Or Brewer if we keep him.

Blocking shots doesn't always mean you're a good defender.

amar'e has blocked over 2 per game once... Al Jefferson was near 2.. others as well.... and they are NOT good defenders.
