Problem is he is under contract and teams can block this kind of move. It’s unfair but reality. I remember this happened the first time Lovie tried to hire Marinelli.
I don’t know what the Bears are going to do it’s depressing as hell. The ripple effect from that missed kick will probably define Nagy’s tenure.

Last time i checked you can't block a promotion...
That’s a bit extreme. We still are the best DC job available. I’m gonna wait and see who we hire before saying that.
I would be shocked if Harbaugh blocked him.
The Ravens have usually been pretty good about allowing guys to take promotions.
John Pagano would be a solid option.
Rex Ryan is a big risk/high reward option.
A dark horse would be Mike Nolan. He was a guy I was touting to be DC if Fangio left with the Nagy signing. Has previous experience calling plays and has helped New Orleans the last two years field a solid defense as linebackers coach (one of the best run defences in the league this year).
