I know some folks can't divulge their sources, but those words are indicative of speculation or at least hearsay.
Not if he heard it from good sources or people involve in the negotiations.

This is a bit more concrete
A pretty good breakdown of Prince Fielder (or rather, I should say, a breakdown of what Boras thinks of Prince Fielder and the context thereof):
Interpreting Scott Boras' Comments On Prince Fielder: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com
What makes it good? And why do people need someone else to read between the lines for them?
It's good for people who are new to the topic, and also good as a guideline for what teams like the Cubs have to refute in order to keep Fielder's asking price and eventual contract lower.
The following are my points of view...Pujols is getting slightly more than Ryan Howard per year, but he's much better and the Howard contract was stupid to begin with. Prince Fielder is somewhere in between and smart teams will know that he's not worth that much. It's sort of like arguing in arbitration, except the bidding team is going to have to be a bit more diplomatic in explaining why they won't offer as much as Boras is going to ask for. Now a fun game would be thinking about how the Cubs would say in a nice way "Prince is too fat and sucks at defense even though we like his bat" so that Boras doesn't say "**** you guys" and goes elsewhere
It's be nice to have Prince, but I just liked this article because they summarized in the context of Boras statements why it's not the best idea to overpay for him.
I think whoever signs Fielder will have to give at least seven years. Boras would almost dictate it and probably won't even talk to anyone who would try to shortchange on years.
after pujols signed for what he did, fielder wont be getting any less than 7 years.
I see Texas making a huge push on fielder now that they lost cj wilson and have pujols in their division.
But will Fielder want to be in a division that will be won by the Angels

Boras never provides specifics in these group settings, but based on what others have said, my feeling is that the Nationals and Cubs are front-runners for Fielder. Put the Cardinals as at least a dark horse now, too.
That's not true... def if the Rangers were to sign Fielder.
They have a lot of questions with their pitching, but...
Offense goes to the Rangers, while pitching goes to the Angels. It'll be close... and be fun to watch to the end.
I'm still holding out for Prince tho, but the years isn't helping my cause.
Offense goes to Rangers even without Fielder. That lineup is no joke.
Oh yeah true, no doubt. That's why it's not a for sure thing the Angels will win the AL West.
