If he picks STL we might as well kiss Prince goodbye... Florida err Miami will just throw it at him instead. No?

That's what Miami is planning, at least from what I've heard and read. Fielder would be a good center for the Heat too

I'm really starting to get pissed off at Miami.... Unless they sign Pujols. But isn't there extra incentive for them sign a guy with Latino background in that region? Could be part of the allure.

Not necessarily. Miami was trying to spread out Pujols' salary over 10 years. The Cubs could and were willing to offer comparable money over fewer years. This is obviously more per year. In the case of Fielder, fewer years gives him a shot at another contract before he's done playing.

They mentioned that on MLB Network. Another point that they made was they were also considering the possibility of Pujols breaking the HR record.

Also, would Prince feel like sloppy seconds? I'm so hooked on this shit right now. I should have gone to bed an hour ago....

Tell me about it. The thing of it is, you know most of the reports are a bunch of crap. How could they not be when they're so conflicted.

We're not going to get either. We'll probably keep K-los Pena and just keep signing all the DeJesus' of the baseball world.

BTW, Ive seen someone on MLB Network say that they think Fielder will cost more than Pujols. It's a smart move by Boras to drive up the bidding once Pujols sets the bar.

I know what you mean you blew up my phone saying albert was already a fishy and i had a lil heart attack. I dont want albert but i want fielder so when he goes and the cubs dont have anyone locked in it freaks me out. But hopefully we sign fat boy to a 5 or 6 year deal and i can rest easy.

I'd be more scared if I didn't already know that a lot of the reporting is erroneous and highly speculative.

The other thing is that if they don't get Fielder or Pujols, I simply won't go to games. No big deal. I've already stopped watching them for the most part.

After seeing this Pujols war I'd be ok if they gave him that 7th option year he wants. Risky but what the hell.

There lies the problem with me.... I haven't stopped and never will.

I really wouldn't mind Gabby Sanchez though. I think you could win with him at 1B, you'd just have to put a big slugger somewhere else on the field.

Me too 7 years for fatty is fine by me. He rakes and will for at least 5 more years. If we get 2 years of so so baseball I can live with it. Just get it done and make a trade or two and who knows the cubs may become relevant in baseball again.:cubs:

You're probably gonna have to go with 8 or more seeing what Pujols got.

On Chuck Garfein's twitter, he said he interviewed Gammons. Gammons said Fielder to Cubs was a real possibility. That was 4 hours ago. Just 2 hours ago, Gammons said on his twitter that the Cubs say they don't have the cash. Yet no source. I think Gammons is confusing himself. Also, since when do old people tweet?

With the money off the books and Ricketts giving Theo the green light on whatever he wants to do, how do the Cubs not have the cash?

I think Gammons is out of his mind.
