I wouldn't mind seeing Morel be gone. We can figure out the 3B situation next year when O-dog will obviously be gone.

Maybe Kuhn next year?

Not sure who would want Morel though.

morel wont be gone. he will be sent down or what have you if a move is made. Im curious to see what he "adds". what is it that is out there. The outfield is set ( i doubt they move rios )

3b-yes
ss-no
2b-this is the spot that is weird. if beckham hits 255/260 at 330 and 15 hrs with that defense im not sure its worth getting bent over for a 2bmn. and who would even be out there that is significant?

1b-no
catcher-no
BP- sure, we could all use an arm but that isnt going to make or break the team

I would have to say a real starting pitcher. not a has been or some 3a/4 starter. If kenny wants this and sees a window, get a sick Starter and move humber to stewarts spot and have humber spot start for sale when they shut him down when he gets close to 150 innings

Are they going to do that? It seems like that goes against everything your pitching coach believes in, and if you guys are in the hunt for a postseason spot do you really think it will be easy to shut down one of your best starters. If it was my call I would try to land another starter and periodically have Humber take Sale's spot in the rotation during August and September. Basically skipping Sale a couple times through the rotation to limit the number of innings but still have Sale available if the Sox make the postseason.

I think the big thing they are going after is either a starting pitcher that is a front of the rotation guy or Youk.

not sure if a complete shut down happens. but skipping starts probably will happen. thats kinda why I want a SP. The playoffs usually come down to that. If we are going to trot out sale, peavy, danks and one other solid guy really anything can happen at that point. I also want to SP for down the stretch to keep us from falling and be a stopper. we dont know if det will turn it around, but while they are ouchy and have issues along with cleveland id like for the sox to take advantage of that and grow a lead here and put all the pressure on those 2 teams.

I would think another arm in the rotation, and maybe a veteran for the bench that can play a few positions and has some pop that we can plug in time to time. But I don't know how hard that'll be to find.

i want demp. but i worry about the AL torching him

Yeah. I'm not sure if he'll be exactly what the Sox are looking for but there isn't really another guy out there on the trading block that the Sox could go after that is an ace.

Lincecum maybe?

If he wasn't so shaky this year, I would say to do it.

If they're taking Rios and we get a real top guy, I'm all for it. Except putting Fukudome in place of Rios in the lineup kills.

But doesn't he get, like, 20MM a year in arbitration or something?

EDIT: 18MM in 2012, 20MM in 2012.
