Lincecum for Rios would be cool with me. Tough to part with Rios because he's been so good this year, but pitching is a major need now and in the playoffs (if they make it).

Is that a rumor or just ur idea?

Floyd also happens to you know, suck? He is what he is...a fucking mental case.

still cant complain he is a 5th starter. 5th starters are usually not that good.

Alot of people besides me have had it with Floyd.

If he isn't traded this season, then a good chance he's gone in the winter.

We need a pitcher. Someone to change it up that can do a better job than the current one.

I also say its urgent since danks to throw side session tomorrow than a rehab start before coming back.

I agree. There will be a Quintana start and another one in the future before Danks even starts. That doesn't put the Sox in a great position.

I really feel like we need 3 things. In descending order of importance.
1.3B
2.SP
3.LR

Reasons
1. Morel, enough said here. Morel's low average and OBP is a rally killer, and although O-Dawg has been an improvement our 3B aren't exactly class of the American League. I miss Crede... or even Mackowiak...
2. When a starting pitcher gets knocked out of a game early who comes in? The long reliever, who is that? Zach Stewart. With a 4.87 ERA .337 BAA and a 1.57 WHIP, not to mention allowing 11 runs in 20.1 IP I feel that this is a glaring issue in the pen. That needs to be addressed.
3. Our starting rotation isn't that bad, but they are highly inconsistent after Sale and Peavy. Danks has shown a return to form as of late. Floyd pitches way better at home than he does on the road. And Humber is having the dreaded perfect game curse. I like how Quintana has performed but another arm would be a welcome safety blanket.

Players to be had
1.?
2.?
3.?
Open to suggestions (NO YOUK, I can't imagine Jerry letting us add 13M in payroll unless we are shedding it as well, and as buyers we would most likely be dealing prospects.)

I completely agree with whitesoxman.

I think that the long reliever and SP can be done in the same move. Get a SP via trade and then have Quintana as the long reliever. I think he's shown that he can be better there than Zack Stewart ever will be.

As far as 3B, it's tough. Youk and David Wright are both too much money, I think and probably wouldn't happen for that reason. I don't really know any other third basemen possibly on the trading block. Can anyone help me out there?

Anyone see a probability that the Sox can trade for Astro's 3B Chris Johnson? Houston will most likely be sellers, Johnson has hit well in spacious Minute Maid Park, maybe a fit? Maybe the Mariners would part with Kyle Seager and likewise with the Reds and Todd Frazier.

However I feel like we are devoid of prospects to include in any trade. Tryce Thompson stands out as trade bait along with Jordan Danks, but other than those two I don't see a lot of attractive options for other teams.

That is the first time I have heard MMP described as spacious. It has a big centerfield but it has got some very short porches. You do know that it was nicknamed "ten run field" when it was Enron Field.

I don't see the Astros moving a guy that is just hit arbitration at the end of the year. Same for the Mariners in Seager who is even farther away from becoming expensive. The best bet for 3B upgrade is Youklis since I really doubt there is enough in the farm to interest the Padres in giving up Headley.

Rumor is they'll be looking for a starter if they're still in it in a month.

yeah I guess I was just referring to the deep gaps and centerfield, left field is pretty short, but that's besides the point. I think Johnson is movable, considering they have prospect Jimmy Paredes waiting in the wings in Triple-A.(Jimmy Paredes Stats, Bio, Photos, Highlights | MiLB.com Stats | The Official Site of Minor League Baseball) In addition to having a solid-hitting journeymen Scott Moore and Mike Hessman. The only players I can't see Houston moving are Altuve and Lowrie.

And Angels... don't call us, we'll call you on Stewart lol

Who do you think we'll target? And what are the chances of landing him? With the whole AL East in a dog fight, it will be awfully hard to be top-bidder in any potential trade for a decent starter, we just simply do not have the prospects.
