Just got back from the Cubs Spring Training. Went to the Padres-Dbacks game on wednesday & then Cubs-Dbacks on Thursday.

Cubs-Dbacks was horrible. Chi lost 12-2 (AZ lost 8-0 to SD on Wed too). Pretty sure it was #68 (maybe #66) who should never step foot on a baseball mound again. Walked in 2 runs then gave up a monster grand slam.

Cubbies looked absolutely pathetic on Thursday. HoHoKam was packed to the brim as usual though & the crowd was awesome.

Oh well, Go Cubs Go.

The Cubs tried that with Joey Gathright and how did that work? They eventually release/DFA him.

He'll start season in Triple A ... Joe Mather will win that spot.

Hmmm...rain in the Phoenix area. I wonder if they'll even get that game in.

Vegas looks relatively clear though.

Damn, who will get the5th spot in the rotation? I gotta go with Volstad, he better have a good game.

A good chance Wells gets traded, Wood to Triple A, Coleman to Triple A, and Lopez to Triple A.

If Wells is not traded, I see him as the long inning relief pitcher.

Volstad seems to be doing well. Cubs need to get some runs for him now

Lots of grounders but a couple line drives too. 1-0 Texas, bottom 3rd.

Okay with things starting to shake out a little bit. I'm guessing they break camp with 12 pitchers because it seems like 12 is now the standard that teams carry. Here is what I have as it stands now:
1. Matt Garza
2. Ryan Dempster
3. Paul Malholm
4. Jeff Samardzija
5. Chris Volstad (Randy Wells with an outside chance of taking that spot)

Bullpen-
1. CL Carlos Marmol
2. R SU Kerry Wood
3. L SU James Russell
4. MR Rafael Dolis
5. MR Probably a lefty (Probably Trevor Miller if I had to guess now)
6. MR (Manny Corpas, Marcos Maeto, Andy Sonnastine, ???)
7. LR/Mopup guy Lendry Castillo (Rule 5 pick that has shown enough for them to try to stash him)

Evil twin alert!

I assume the White Sox are winning right? Gameday froze and I'm watching basketball instead :D

Cubs win one, but Campana was unable to hit that grand slam we were all waiting for...guess we'll have to wait some more for the other game.
