Kings offense wasn't that bad. Brodeur was just really really good. The Kings will be fine.

Quick wasn't on his game today and he'll probably fix that in game 6. And Brodeur might be as good, but the Kings will figure out a way to beat him. It's too soon to be worried.

That's easy for any of us to say, but I guarantee you there's a good amount of worried hockey fans in LA right now.

Nice win for the Devils tonight. Great to see some vintage Martin Brodeur. Just damn impressive the longevity that he has had.

Really hoping for a Devils win in game 6. Nothing better than a game 7 with everything on the table. At that point I don't care who wins, as long as the game keeps me on the edge of my seat.

if you have no vested interested in either team why would it keep you on the edge of your seat? let me guess what you will say "i love hockey and stuffz" " im a true fan " amirite

Yeah maybe. I'm just tired of Devils fans being all like "We're gonna win it all now"

They still have to win another two games which is hard to do against a good team with a good goalie like the Kings. It's possible, but don't freak out until the series is tied. Then it's going to be really interesting.

I'd love to meet those Devils fans. Because I wouldn't have much confidence if I was them. Knowing that the guy at the other end of the ice is very much capable of completely stealing a game for you, on any given night, is a very unsettling feeling for a fan base. Particularly when one more game ends your season.

Makes me real happy that the Hawks have never had to face Quick in the playoffs. At least not yet. I'd have zero confidence.

By the way, saw this on Twitter tonight:

Jeff Carter and Mike Richards now 0-for-2 on June 9 ...

Not :troll:ing but I just don't see what you're getting at here. You've never been entertained by an exciting hockey game that didn't feature the Blackhawks?

I'm not gonna say I'm on the edge of my seat for every game but there's been plenty of incredible playoff games that have had me screaming at the TV as if the Hawks were playing.

What kind of dumb question is this? Flat out just trying to start to shit. Way to go mod.

Because I'm a hockey fan, have been my whole life, and because I love a good hockey game.

Sure I guess it could happen. If I dont have a vested interest in the teams I am not going to be at the edge of my seat unless the score is tied in the 7th game in OT in anticipation for a cup winner (which is more or less a fans natural reaction) Like this series I have a vested interest so I will be on the edge of my seat game 6 and if there is a game 7 as I was this whole series, but if it was lets say Nashville/devils I wouldnt be on the edge of my seat since i clearly have no distaste for either team. Thats just me though.

 predictable.

Yeah, I love hockey and a good hockey game is always fun to watch.

But you're telling me that you can watch a hockey game and not want either team to win? I know that for me something natural happens when I watch any sport. My brain picks a team even if I don't actually want to cheer for a team and that's what makes it exciting.

to a slight degree yes. Again I think its natural reaction to pick one over the other in the sub conscience, but it wouldnt put me at the edge of my seat though.

SCF always have me excited. Not sure about the edge of the seat. Like when I missed game 3 and 4 because it wasn't on national tv I wasn't too torn up other than game 4 there was the chance I would miss them hoisting the cup.

But like last year even if I wasn't a Bruins fan, I think I would be on the edge of my seat just because there was so much drama.

This year, I'm rooting for the Kings because I want my early prediction to be right and that's what has me on the "edge of my seat"

I honestly don't care who wins, I just want the best hockey game possible.

Last night when Richards has those last two chances on his off side, you better believe that I was on the edge of my seat. So much is up for grabs here and it is exciting to think that these players are in the position to reach the greatest goal in hockey.

I guess. Like I'm cheering for the Kings, but it will be the coolest thing ever if the Devils somehow comeback and win it.

It's just weird to watch a game and not have a team that you're cheering for at least a little.

This is the first year in awhile that I haven't really cared who won the Cup. Don't have strong opinions for either team.

But that was a different story in the past few years: cheering for the Hawks (obviously), then cheering against the Canucks and the Wings.

The past 4 years before this year I've been really interested. 2008 I wanted the asteroid to win. 2009 a rematch. Go Asteroid!!! 2010 BLACKHAWKS so I was literally dying each game. 2011 I love the Bruins and wanted the Canucks to lose so bad.

This year....it's just...meh. Too good teams that weren't really expected to get this far. Yay Parise and Kopitar and Kovalchuk and Brown and Doughty. Goaltender battles. That's basically it.

It's good hockey, no doubt. The first period of game 5 was the best hockey I've watched in a while but I wouldn't say that I've been as excited for interested as I have been the past couple years.
