No doubt Alexei has played good this season. Yesterday I voted for him to go to the all star game.

But did he drop by to say hi to Starlin Castro in 2010, 2011 and 2012?

That's not the question at hand.

And thanks for the vote !

I'm pretty sure I said it should be reduced as a means of evaluation because the number is so very, very flawed.

and how is it 'very, very flawed'? because 1 out of maybe every 20 errors could have just as easily been ruled a hit? if that is your logic than all defensive metrics are flawed because there is opinion applied on things such as range on every single defensive play.

by the same logic other stats such as strikeouts and batting average are flawed as well. batting average is also determined by those same scoring plays you claim make errors very, very flawed and there are probably much more strikeouts that are called on borderline pitches or checked swings that are of a subjective nature as well.

Strikeouts are def over rated. There are more numbers then just the slash lines. I would suggest learning about sabers. They aren't tell all but they show a lot of good stuff of trends and other things

Both of those numbers are flawed, yes.

looked like he closed glove too soon...

one thing I noticed tonight that I haven't before ( maybe I never paid attention to it ) but usually I noticed after he boots one he put his head down and hands on knees and basically sulks.. first time I noticed he went to mound and say something to pitcher and give pat on ass, which may of been coincidence but it seened to help pitcher bare down and get the next 2 hitters out

15. I think Castro grew up after last season. He saw what a bad season is like and should be hungry. If not, then he will never be more than what he has already been.f

I believe that's what he's pretty much on pace for... 12 errors through 122 games. More homers than errors... :)

Pace changes. The HR pace Rizzo was on in the first half is different than the pace he is currently on. Why jinx him?

It sure does... but there's not much else to go off of right now...

As for jinxing him, someone posted it on Twitter first... :)

Castro has made a few great defensive plays the past couple of days. I no longer cringe every time a ball is hit at him

There's always someone else to blame!

Seriously, I was thinking about posting in this thread a few days ago, but superstition got the better of me. He is much better this year...hopefully his focus continues right through the end of the season.

As a refresher from page 1, here are the predictions. I was at 15...
