Can I be brutally honest?

Idk why RobinHood even exists.

When I started investing, I simply went to TDA's website, created an account, deposited money, and bought stocks.

I didn't have to pay to create the account, or use their app, and now trades are commission free as well.

Acorn at least has a unique funding option....

Idk wtf WeBull is, never seen it.
I signed up on Robinhood 2 years ago since my friend wouldn't stop talking about it. I put in $500, bought some stock that was recommended to me and hedged my bet with a gold stock since that was generally a good thing to have if the market went down, which it really hasn't. Both stocks were losing money for awhile.. I didn't check it for a real long time, not until last April really... COVID actually oddly brought both up enough to where I was making $200+ in profit.. Still pretty much am at this point as its all plateaued....I'm probably just going to sell those soon and close my Robinhood account.

But you could've done the exact same thing if you signed up at TDA or E-Trade.

That's what I don't grasp, how does Robinhood offer anything different from platforms that existed for years before them?

Were they just like ahead of (leading) the curve on cheap/0$ trades?

All my other money is in Fidelity beyond my savings account.

So I mean, I just decided to see what it was all about. I think at that very moment, Fidelity didn't have commission free trades yet either.

Beyond dabbling that $500 in 2019, I didn't own a single stock, index fund since 2013 until January 2020.. I had a single Mutual Fund in my Roth, which I've had since 2006.

I bought AMC over a week ago. Not a large stake, but I’m still up after today’s chaos. I will say this, when I woke up today, premarket was around $20-$21. My account was loving life. Then open... frozen screen and suspended tickers.

I refreshed to a blank screen on my cell phone and I couldn’t access the desktop Robinhood platform as it was overrun. It took me 3 hours to get a live feed of my account. By that time the damage was done and the only option given was to sell. I said **** it. I’m still up, they want me to sell. I’m holding. I’m still holding now, so we’ll see what bullshit they pull tomorrow.

like I said, I didn’t push a large amount of money into this, so I’m not sitting on riches or anything. I have a Feb 5, $5 call option, which was worth around $2000 right at open when everything froze, along with stock.
We’ll see what happens.

Quiznos sucked.

They are still around, and they even have lobster salad: Quiznos Sub Sandwich Restaurants - Lunch Catering and Food Delivery

That's how I started too (with TDA). The RH commercials make it sound like you need their app to figure out how to invest. Umm, there's an internet with lots to read about it already.

AMC. I'm tapped out on Robinhood. I can't buy. I'm in a hold situation.

My attitude the last couple weeks too.
what they are not only illegal and wrong but it’s immoral. people need this money more than i do and if i can help bring these fucking crooks down i will do what i can. these are the same people who drank champagne during the occupy wall street protests as people lost everything.
