Totally agree there too. What the Cubs needs to focus on IMO is pitching, pitching and more pitching. The hitters depth is there but they gotta get past this gridlock of AAAA depth that they have built up with the pitchers. Depth of trash is still trash. Goes for all teams at all positions.

Very insightful. You must be a parrot. Haven't heard this before. Loł. Indeed, you're the first to say the Cubs prospects skew toward position players. You have such an amazing skill when it comes to seeing what can't be seen by others. Good job.

I think people are going to realize eventually that the Cubs strategy on drafting prospects has been very smart, and that their pitching is actually pretty darn good. They focused on bats at a time when hitting was down in the MLB, and have quietly built up their pitching as well.

The pitching has been better than what should have been expected in recent years. It may not translate to what would be needed for post season success but who's knows. It's not like the Giants and Royals had amazing rotations once you get past B'garner and Ventura.

This response doesn't really address the post you quoted. If anything, you're agreeing with it. Good job, nitwit.

You might want to give thought to placing quality over quantity. You're under no obligation to respond so much, especially if your responses are going to be so dumb.

While you get your meds, have someone start reading for you as well. (I smell my first vacation to Cali coming)

Another post that makes no sense. You guys must be really hard up to troll the Cubs forum if this is what you're putting out? If you're going to make dumb responses, just save it. I guess you're that hard up to troll.

It's not that I didn't see his comment. But I'm not going to back off calling him out for what he is.

You use words that you or your handler do not understand.

Parade posts in the sox forum. He knows if he goes around calling you what you are, he opens himself up to being called a hypocrite. Stop resorting to euphemisms as a way to deny what you are. It's not fooling anyone, troll.

There you go again. Wtf is this? Or do you even know? I guess I don't really care so consider that a rhetorical question.

And they have put a focus on that this offseason with Lester and pursuing Shields, plus taking chances the past couple years on Arrieta, Turner, Doubront, etc. one of which has worked out really good so far. Their rationale must be that position players advance quicker (unless it is Sale) while they can add big pitchers through free agency or trades if need be.

The rotation is Lester, Arrieta, Hammel, Hendricks and ____.
The top three is solid, especially if Arrieta is legit. Hendricks I wouldn't count on to maintain last year's numbers, but one more splash this coming offseason) hopefully Price) and the Cubs have a pitching staff and a lineup (if Bryant and one of Baez or Russell pan out) no team will want to see on their schedule. The bullpen is pretty good already too.

Arrieta has a lot to prove. penciling him in as a lock is premature when you look at his full career.

So what are you saying? That you would like 2323 to find his meds? I'm clarifying, because BearPride says my reading comprehension isn't too good, but from what I gather, 2323 needs his meds.

Only if you're wearing a shiny new pair of beer goggles. :dunno:

Yeah, and like I said, the Cubs have quietly added some pitching prospects as well. But mostly, we'll be adding this to a lineup that was 3rd in HR's, have added some key on base guys, and are bringing up the best HR hitting prospect in baseball. The Cubs should be able to score some runs to help their pitching.
