Schwarber, Torres, McKinney, the younger pitching will be developing, etc. It will drop from #1, but it will still be in top 10. Sox? Wait and see if they have injuries, or if they are in the race and need to separate themselves from the pack by pulling the trigger on a trade.not really. especially when all the guys come up rank will drop. we really wont be using the farm this year.

That's what fans do. Its like getting drunk and the thick girl looks skinnier at 2 am than she did at midnight.12th = A few picks above average.
1st = The best.
:dunno: I find it incredibly funny that Sox fans spend a lot of time telling Cubs fans not to get excited about the #1 farm system, yet they insist that the #12 farm system is comparable to the Cubs.

No. What I related was that all fans have beer goggles toward their own teams. If they didn't, they wouldn't be fans.I'm well aware of what beer goggles are capable of, I just don't get the contradiction of putting down the Cubs #1 farm system, and then talking up the Sox #12 farm system? Are you saying that Sox fans are a bunch of drunks that like fat chicks? I thought that was what Packers fans were. :dunno:

I won't be responding to any more of your dumb posts here, but once again you over-complicated a simple issue. Fans are fans. That's why they put one down team down and lift their own up.Man, you seem like a decent guy, but I really wonder about your reading comprehension sometimes. Sorry, but you seem to never understand a thing I say. Your responses never seem to address what I actually said. :dunno:
LOL, yes, it is. They were desperate to sell and the White Sox gave them 4 players under a combined 18 years of control for only one guaranteed season of Samardzija. Semien was the highest rated prospect given up, and he was the 91st rated prospect prior to 2014. Sox didn't really give up very much because the A's had to unload him, and because they were only getting him for one guaranteed season. It was a great deal for the Sox, but to pretend they got him because of their deep farm system is laughable.

LOL. You shouldn't lecture anyone about reading comprehension.Again, you are lecturing me on what "beer goggles" were even after I said I knew what it meant, and made a joke. The above bolded statement by you shows that you don't know what it means, imo.
"Beer goggles" means that things look better as you get more drunk.....so, it makes sense for the Sox fans to think their #12 ranking is better than it is. However, it DOESN'T makes sense to think that the Cubs #1 ranking is worse than it is.
If you can't understand that, then I suggest you invest in a "Hooked on Phonics" lesson. Again, you seem like you're a nice guy, and I certainly am tired of arguing with you, so I agree that it's probably best for you to just not respond to me.
Actually, it's probably better that you just put me on ignore as you just are not getting what I say, no matter what I say, and I think this shortcoming makes you debate silly things.
#GoCubs :cubs:
you keep missing it... oh well

The Cubs falling due to promotions isn't a bad thing though.
The Cubs have more young talent on the roster already in addition to the already stacked farm system waiting to come up. If Bryant, Russell, Soler, etc. all graduate, do you know what that means? It means that they've got them all playing in the majors now, and the team still has them, even if not prospects anymore.
Graduation is a good thing even if it causes the number to drop.
I'd go one step father and say it's an awesome thing. Winning games in the minors is meaningless.
True, but prospect ranks and minor league winning % don't always correlate. You could have an awful overall minor league record but with one stud at each level and have a pretty good shot at getting something out of it. Fortunately for the Cubs, the system is so deep that they have more than a couple chances for a "hit".
Totally agree there too. What the Cubs needs to focus on IMO is pitching, pitching and more pitching. The hitters depth is there but they gotta get past this gridlock of AAAA depth that they have built up.
And Theo and Jed agree with you which is why they've drafted a ton of arms in later rounds and acquired when they can. This is a big year for CJ Edwards who scouts are pretty much evenly divided on as to whether he's a starter or not but those that think he is think he's a #2 if not a #1. He'll almost certainly get a look by September if not earlier. Duane Underwood is moving up a lot of lists as well and looks to have a TOR upside, some like his teammate Jen-Ho Tseng even better. Carson sands and Jake Stinnett have a lot of scouts on their side as well. They'll pick up mre as they go along as well but they really believe that right handed power is more valuable than pitching right now and once they decide which of the prospects are going to stick I think you'll see moves. Then we'll see if their value bet was right.
