No. Teravainen has more upsides than Hayes. Hayes is slow as ****. The problem for finding linemates for Kane is that he keeps getting stuck with guys who can't keep up to him. I don't think size matters on Kanes line up the middle personally. I just want someone who can skate with the guy. We all see the difference when he gets linemates who can skate. Kane creates the space on the line with his puck possession skills and his skating. But when you have a slow **** like Handzus up the middle who is a play behind it doesn't matter. Handzus has size but it doesn't help Kane one bit. Pfff size..skilled skaters please.

WRONG!!

unlike Kane Teravainen has a two way game thats more comparable to Toews damn it!!! Not that Kane is horrible on the back end of the game but we all know that's not his bread and butter. Offensively Teravainen may be more like Kane up front but his all around game is more like that of Toews for **** sakes!!! DEFENSE IS WHAT WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!! When you yanks gunna start waking up to that and stop playing mother Russia lovin hockey from the 80's?

BRING IT ON!!!

i did like the Nuge comparison though. But again Teravainen has more defensive responsibility than the Nuge also. Ewwww Nuge sucks.

Dude in terms of his play the past 12 mos I watched the Lake Placid tourney games last summer, the WJC (just like you) and Jokerit games this season both a few during the poor first half of the season when Jokerit was really and truly struggling and now many post-WJC games with the additional wingers Jokerit added late Nov/Dec as well a new head coach as of Dec. HE IS MOST DEFINITELY better defensively which was a HUGE relief for me to see him get better in that area if only so that naysayers would STFU. And he earned those PK responsibilties for Team FIN and to a lesser degree w/Jokerit but there is no way in hell he is close to reminiscent of Toews/Hossa/Saad in terms of two-way respsonsibility IMO. . .not yet at least. If any prospect could be called an Insta-Two-Way IQ game prodigy it was Saad.

Yah and Saad has lived up to that to be very honest. Kids got a good head for both ends of the game. Another reason I would love to see Teravainen in sooner than later. Teams loaded with solid two way forwards for him to learn off of a little. Get him in the system now and let the good times roll daddy o!!!

Oh, so then you are aware that when Hayes was moved to the 1L in the final part of the season he was playing with mini-wonder on ice and elitest of elite hockey IQ and soon-to-be-named Hobey Baker winner Gaudreau right and that it didn't stop his 1.5 PPG or Gaudreau's 2.0 PPG pace then? But let's keep playing because I'm having fun here with Devil's Advocate shenanigans!

He's slow. I don't care what his college numbers and awards are. He's slow. Teravainen is a better skater. All I care about.

I'll also be a dick and say NCAA hockey is lame outside of Michigan (cant believe i said that) and Boston college. Its good for character building which I am sure Hayes has and its good for building back up plans if hockey doesn't work out but I have never been a fan of the college hockey game at all. Not saying great players don't come out of colleges either..obviously they do ie Toews and countless other players.

Oh well okay as long as it's because you're shouting he's slow then of course. My bad. I certainly hope you're not confusing his skillset and upside with his brothers though.

Im not his brother ultra sucked at skating it almost made me gag. But both are seriously slow skaters and not strong ones. Not a fan of players who don't have strong skating skills esp up the middle. Don't have to be lightening fast but they better be able to stop and go at some degree of impressiveness or at the very least do more than skate a straight line. Hands can be as fast as they want to be but if a center can't skate I'm really not a fan personally. If Hayes wants to take Bickells job on the wing eventually when Bickells knees just go to mush i'm all for that. Center? No thanks. Not my style of center as a fan. I am greedy and I want centers who have above average skating abilities.

im all in on Teravainen. ALL IN!! If he plays at some point this season and in the playoffs and he sucks then I will eat crow. But if he doesn't then im serving a whole shit load to those who challenge my dominant awesomeness.

Dude, I wasn't talking about the kid's long-range slotting and usefulness. He's gonna play for Rockford. I was asking if with his outstanding offensive development every year of his college career culminating with this glorious one and his other attributes if it is an acceptable risk to burn the 1st year off his ELC in pursuit of the Cup seeing as he's not a talent black hole. Because it's just as likely that a twist of fate could have had Teuvo come back to Jokerit post-WJC and if they hadn't made a coaching and therefore system change and if they hadn't decided to sign Nagy and Little that his numbers could just as likely still be hovering around the .500 or under PPG mark he was at until Dec.and came back to all the changes fortified with confidence from the Gold medal and was en fuego. There is no way anyone would have wanted that Teravainen to just jump in. So in that sense or hypothetical Hayes would have been the most successful centre prospect the Hawks have in any league this year by a largeass margin. In fact Hayes has performed at a high level consistently all season whereas Teuvo was tried at 1C again and that didn't work again, put on wing and was't feeling the mojo, put back at 2C, put back at 2C post-WJC where he finally got the mojo. Don't minimize Hayes' accomplishments and development as a prospect dude. I'm just sayin'. Not saying I actually realistically want Hayes to get a shot right now but applying the logic used to justify throwing Teravainen in because he's been successful the past 3 or so months.

In any event it's been real turdlings. It's always fun fucking with y'all. Land of Nod time. In the end Hawks are gonna do whatever the **** they wanna do with Teravainen! All Stan's gotta do at this juncture is send someone down and make the cap space and all your 2C dreams MAY be answered!

And all we had to do is wait. Chances are, you can believe it will be either Morin or Brookbank being sent down.

Everyone knows I want TT here... Its no secret. We all know I've wanted him here ever since he was drafted.

He'd better be here soon cause damn.... Even I wouldn't be bitching about the 2nd line center situation if he is the 2C. Hell, he'd instantly be my other favorite Hawk when he arrives.

Man this thread has been entertaining.

Honestly I am very divided on bringing him up. The main reason I am weary is due to the fact that I think we can win another Cup without his services, therefore making the risk of murdering his confidence too much.

TCD, I know you do not believe in the whole North American game, rushing a player...but many players have stated that it is a completely different game, and regardless of how Toews like TT is, it will be a huge challenge for him stepping in with no buffer period.

Now I love the idea of bringing him up because of the possibilities it creates. If he can solidify himself at center I think he should be up right away, but again my huge hang up it how he will fair in the NHL. Our division opponents all boast very gritty teams, and at this point TT would be downright frail going against some bigger players, and yes that worries me. Regardless if he is 100% mentally ready for it, strong willed, a true fanatical competitor those worries go out the window. We all know how big Shaw is, Kane was, and they do just fine in this league.

Bottom line, my verdict is bring him up for a 2-3 game stint. I was a HUGE fan of Saad starting with the big club right away and he looked like a deer in headlights his first two games, so they sent him down and he then broke records in Saginaw, and played well during the lockout in Rockford. IMO it did wonders for him.

If that isn't high expectations of the man, I don't know what is.
