Man this thread has been entertaining.

Honestly I am very divided on bringing him up. The main reason I am weary is due to the fact that I think we can win another Cup without his services, therefore making the risk of murdering his confidence too much.

TCD, I know you do not believe in the whole North American game, rushing a player...but many players have stated that it is a completely different game, and regardless of how Toews like TT is, it will be a huge challenge for him stepping in with no buffer period.

Now I love the idea of bringing him up because of the possibilities it creates. If he can solidify himself at center I think he should be up right away, but again my huge hang up it how he will fair in the NHL. Our division opponents all boast very gritty teams, and at this point TT would be downright frail going against some bigger players, and yes that worries me. Regardless if he is 100% mentally ready for it, strong willed, a true fanatical competitor those worries go out the window. We all know how big Shaw is, Kane was, and they do just fine in this league.

Bottom line, my verdict is bring him up for a 2-3 game stint. I was a HUGE fan of Saad starting with the big club right away and he looked like a deer in headlights his first two games, so they sent him down and he then broke records in Saginaw, and played well during the lockout in Rockford. IMO it did wonders for him.

Yeah I don't doubt that the kid can succeed in the NHL, his size doesn't worry me (which isn't going to remain the same anyway). I think he'll be fine in that regard. It's not that I don't believe he has huge potential. I just think you have to handle it better than what some people want them to at this point in his career and at this point in the Hawks' season. Like you say and I have said, he's not going to be the reason they don't win the Cup if he isn't on the team. There's absolutely nothing to base that off of.

A stint of X amount games without losing that slide year whenever Jokerit is done is fine, he's earned that. But to expect him to play a big role in the NHL playoffs is asking too much. That would be asking a lot of rookies who have played an entire season worth of games leading up into their first playoffs. I mean, that was a lot for Saad in last year's playoff and he was just about as "NHL ready" as there was for a player in his first year. For a kid who has never played in the NHL and hardly at all with the team? Just be smart and pump the brakes. And just because some people don't like to talk about contracts and the cap doesn't mean it doesn't play a big part in this.
