So some of you want Stalberg to get some of Bickell and Brouwer's minutes?

Stalberg belongs in the KHL..........................[/quote]

Probably a bit harsh, but I am not impressed with him. I won't be a dick though. No reason for that.

I never railed anyone unless they really deserved it. I'm not big on digging guys wearing the Indian Head. Never have been. I always start out giving them 20 games or so to prove themselves.

When you get to that level obviously you have some talent or you wouldn't be there.

Stalberg - Dowell - Skille was one of the better lines for Chicago vs Det. Were creating chances and PP's in the third (I know Viktor drew one himself). Stalberg drew one vs Buffalo, as well as had a partial breakaway.

It's been 3gms and he's been getting 4th line minutes...not sure what he's been doing wrong, but I guess some people just pick a player and bag on him.

My problem with him is I don't see finish. You do realize had he shot the puck in the 3rd against Detroit that game goes to OT.

He had two great chances again last night. Good players finish those chances. We'll see as time goes by. There is no denying his speed to make plays. Salmalanian had that same speed and he sucked.

Toews had some great chances already this year and didnt score. It's 3 games in...no reason to title him Salmelainen

Toews does so many other things you can not compare him. And read I said 20 games but you can definitely start forming an opinion before it gets to 20.

I can't believe you put Toews and Stalberg in the same sentence. Remind me when Stalbrg plays stellar D and leads the team in FO percentage, wears the C and if he goes down the team lives and dies by him.

Come on.

So far he's closer to Salmalanian. I hope he starts to finish and proves me wrong. He's blown at least 5 chances in the small amount of time he get's. And I wasn't labeling more using a player closer to his skills to compare him too.

I don't have much of a problem with Stalberg so far. Him and Skille must have drawn all the Hawks PP's so far this season.

I think Morin beat him out in camp.

Not sure you will find anyone to argue that point... however is Morin really best suited for bottom line duties?

Were you talking about goal scoring or all around game? Because, you said that "He had two great chances again last night. Good players finish those chances." - and I mentioned Toews had some great scoring chances (which was the topic) - and didnt bury them either, in the first 3 games of the season.

And that would be real intelligent, play Morin 6 - 9 - 11 minutes (what Stalberg has played so far)

Sorry, I know better than to disagree with you. I'll go away.

I'm used to JT starting slow. Talent wise Toews I'm not worried about.

You didn't really disagree with me but you can go away anyway. LOL!

And I never said play Morin in Stalbergs spot did I. Don't ASSume.

I'd have Morin playing on the 2nd line.

Yup. Though it is nice that he can hone his nice skill set in a less trial by fire environment for a short spell. The beauty of where this team is right now.

talking with Scotty Bowman at practice yesterday morning I'm really excited about Leddy's production and when Campbell returns I bet they switch Leddy and Morin out.

None too surprising. And would be interesting to see how Morin will have progressed at this level.

Too bad that when that case comes around the Cap will make it tough to have Leddy stay and move Hendry on.

Stalberg isn't playing in our top six, so what the **** does it matter if he lacks finish? He's doing exactly what he should be doing on the fourth line right now...

As much as I like Morin, I think its appropriate to see how he does at the AHL level before relying on him for NHL 2nd line duties. So far he has 1 goal and 1 assist in 3 games, not bad but nothing earth shattering... hes pulling his weight just as much as guys like Beach, Pirri, Lalonde, and Potulny... but not really a step above any of them.

On the 4th line, Stalberg has been doing everything he needs to be. That 4th line will see the back of the net eventually, I think its probably more effective than the one we had last year for sure.

So far, the team is good the way it is... barring injury or a miracle string of games, Morin should stay in Rockford.

We have three guys on the Hawks right now that could probably do just fine in the top six, and only one spot on the Sharp/Kane line. Bickell, Brouwer, and Skille are all good options for that line right now. They have all earned looks on that line before Morin is brought up. I honestly think Morin will stay in Rockford unless we have an injury.
