Uggh. So Q's still infatuated with the notion that Pisani deserves to be on the 2nd line? He needs to be moved down to the 3rd (and continued PK of course) which is what his excellent camp/preseason earned him---I don't even understand why they are attempting this.[/quote]

Weren't Pisani on the line with Bolland during some pre-season games? IMO that's where his place should be on the shutdown-line as his defensive game far outweighs his offensive game. But as we know, Q gets something on his mind, he sticks with it even when it's obvious that it doesn't work. Hopefully I will eat my hat and Pisani has an offensive explosion.

Why is everyone so caught up in Scott fighting? He isn't an enforcer, hes just a big dude.

Unfortunately, the big dude doesn't have the personality of Buff, so hes just a big dude lugging around for no reason. He needs to play with more of an edge, who cares if he fights or not... at least intimidate opponents and make them earn their space. Play harder, not like a turtle in its shell!

Unfortunately, I'm not even willing to experiment with Scott anymore, so far he has proven everyone right with his worthlessness on the ice. Although it was "only" 500K at the time I still questioned the move and will continue to do so until he can prove he can actually provide something to the team. Fighting has nothing to do with it, either.

"Where's Hendry?" Someone should be putting that on every milk carton in Chicago so Q can take him out of his basement and put him in the line-up.

I've asked before and I'll ask again, why does a lumbering Scott get so many chances but Lalonde fucks up once and is sent to Rockford?

You know how mind-bogglingly stubborn (or obtuse?) Q can be and my god, his infatuations! The infatuations are legendary! Best to just think of the Scott experience as Walker ver. 2.0

Lalonde's cap hit is currently 270k more than Scott's. Maybe after he can't reach certain bonuses he'll have a shot.

Actually, he and Buf have pretty much identical personalities. They only bring it the nasty when they feel like it. At least Scott will drop the gloves and pummel someone. Buf played with an edge about 20% of his games. Scott should be in the pressbox, as he should have been for the first two games as well. There's no need to dress him unless the other team has goons.

The lines still make no sense. Pisani played his way into the top six in camp, and in the first two games, has played himself onto the fourth line(or out of the lineup). IMO. Skille and Bickell should both be bumped up. They have been great in the first two games and both have earned a shot to see what they have to offer. Let's hope Brouwer wakes up tonight and does something to get noticed.

How is he? If you talked to him for an hour I can only assuming he's a cool guy?

I don't see any similarities in Buff and Scott at all. Not on the ice, not off the ice, no where.

Scott hasn't shown any edge to his game, Buff may have been inconsistent in that regard but he at least gained the respect of his teammates with hard hitting ability and appreciation to the physical asset of his game. Scott carries a big pussy body around and lumbers over with it. No opposing players respect his size because he doesn't use it the same way Buff did.

I want to see Scott get mad and fucken run around like a train. You can see the fire in Buffs eyes, Scott is more like a teddy bear that your niece shoved under the bed and gets stepped on because nobody notices it there.

It's difficult to explain, but Scott doesn't need to fight in order to prove his worth, he just needs to be a punishing force that opposing players respect and try to avoid. Throwing fists means nothing, its all about how Scott approaches the game... is he a turnstile or is he going to punish you? So far he looks more like a turnstile that can't carry his own weight in the NHL... not sure why this experiment ever even came into consideration because on the Blackhawks D-core he is useless and complete opposite of all the other D members.

You are also comparing a guy that played forward to a guy that plays defense. It is much more difficult to smash people on defense without taking yourself out of position... I can see Scott's nasty streak at times. The issue is, he's not the best skater, so it makes it a bit more difficult to keep up with opposing forwards and use his size. You have to catch someone to hit them.

And talking to someone for an hour somehow gives you insight into their on-ice personality?

I guess Probert was a really, really nice guy on the ice too.

So then why is he playing for the Chicago Blackhawks? This entire post turns me off about him.

Buff still did it on defense, but I suppose he was a better skater. I don't see where the giant fits in, hes just a big body that can't do anything.

Lol, I wasn't expecting an answer but it seemed like you were defending him I suppose.

Either way, if he doesn't improve then I don't want to see him in Chicago, its just a really really bad fit.

If he keeps playing he can add a "minus streak" to his resume.

He brings nothing to the table at this point.

Ideally:

Keith - Seabs

Campbell - Hammer

Boynton - Hendry

With Injury:

Keith - Seabs

Boynton/Hendy - Hammer

Leddy - Boynton/Hendry

at 19 I think Leddy has to get less time on the ice then Boynton/Hendry.. It is what it is with the injury to Campbell, but I don't see how Scott can fit in here. He just takes up space a lot of it, at least when Sopel was here he had a niche.
