Must've missed the other 3 penalties he basically killed by himself today.

I have to question Q when with less than a minute left on a penalty kill he has Hendry and Leddy out there to kill a penalty in a 2-2 game. I know Boynton is in the box and Hendry isn't much better, but you have to have 7 and 2 on the ice in that situation. I guess that's what happens when you run them into the ground the entire game.
Bingo. Why were Leddy and Hendry paired together on the PK. How come Keith wasn't paired with say Leddy and Seabs with Hendry. Instead you have a guy in game 4 of his NHL career with a PK VERY late in the game in a tied situation and then you have hendry who hasn't looked great since when he played well what 3 years ago? (might have been 2)
Stu,

We don't need Scott. I'm all for old time hockey and letting the players duke it out to settle issues but Scott is your typical "old school" goon who can't do anything besides fight. He can't play defense worth shit and doesn't even throw his weight around that much. With Campbell being injured and Hammer suspended toss Scott down on waivers to the AHL and bring up someone from Rockford for a few games. Shit at least Lalonde and Pepin can play defense.

Scott is lost on the ice and every time he gets the puck I get worried as I've seen Peewee's with a better ability to stick handle and pass.

Here's a quick question that I'm curious if you've ever thought about...

If Scott was even a decent player, why did the WILD, of all teams, no resign him for the NHL minimum and let him walk as a free agent?
It was reported when he signed that he was offered more money from another or other teams and he chose to sign with the Hawks. I'm guessing that money was barely more than the minimum, but he did get other offers.

Worst part is he called Toews for a penalty when it should have been a 5 on 3 for the Hawks.

Are you kidding me..

Scott continues to get worse. Boynton with the puck over the glass with 2 minutes left?

Man our D is fucked up with Campbell and now Hjarlmarsson is out, BUT this is the 3rd game we could have and should have won, and didn't.. Long way to go.

Side note, O'Brien paid his debt. Good fucking man. He's got some class and I'm a 100 richer!!
awesome. I always liked the guy, and he's like comic relief half the time.

Oh yea we went back and forth pre game. I Showed him my C note, he nodded in acceptance. He was stretching in front of me, looked over, I pointed UP to the banner, he looked up, and returned the congrats to me. I then lifted the Cup over my head or motioned doing it, he cracked up and said no way. I then showed him a picture on my cell phone with the Cup, in only a way someone with the Cup would get the picture. It was fucking hilarious. He is definitely a top notch guy. Might do some crazy shit on the ice but I have the utmost respect for him as a person.

Plus he pays his debts. How many people can say they wagered an NHL player fan-player and won? And actually got paid? Highlight for sure!

Like I posted in the NHL thread we agreed to go double or nothing if it were to happen again this year with the Preds. I gladly took the wager haha!

Super pissed off at the Canucks. Understandable too.

O'Brien had one of the best fight moments I've ever seen, him and this dude are holding on to each other the ref starts to break it up and O'Brien looks behind him over his should to the ref and he holds up a finger to say "Give me a second" the ref backs off and O'Brien gets a nice one on the guy he was fighting, funny as hell.

my points to make about the game:

* NO EXCUSE LOSING THIS GAME

* Preds had more talented players out for us to take advantage.

* Did not crash the net like we did in the first.

* Sick and tired of shooting from the side of the net or the circle. My mom can stop those pucks.

*dump and chase.....I thought those days were over.

* where was the call on Kane being distroyed by Nash.

on to a good note, nice to see Toews light it up and hopefully get back on track.

You see, I don't mind losing to a team that has most of their line but lose to a team which we clearly should have beat, ticks me off. It seems to me on those weird line juggling that Q made all day, seems like his primary focus was to see which line works better then focusing on winning the game.

Heres to Soups and hammer comeback real soon. And hope to god that is the reason why we look like a minor team. Still time, still early.

Touche, well played!

The thing is, Keith could be blindfolded and skating backwards through an obstacle course and be faster/more skilled than John Scott. He just doesn't work on defense, never thought he would. But right now he's really the only option with Campbell/Hammer out. What the heck was with that dumbass shot he took right into traffic anyways?

That being said, I think he's going to be much more useful on the 4th line.

who? Preds had more of a reason to win. They are still bitter about April-June.

But I agree they should have at least gotten a point.

And FYI we are missing our 2nd entire defenisve pairing. I'd say our injuries out weight theirs at the moment.

And IMO every game we've lost this year we "should" have won. All three of them!

And if you think they look like a minor league team I suggest you actually watch some Minor league teams. Or type that in fucking purple!

Who's Nash?

RK, I'm just giving my view of what I saw at the game. Does'nt mean I love this team any less, I with I'm pretty sure 20 other fans at the game clearly saw us as a better team on ice. You saw that in the first, what happened in the second and third. we stopped crashing the net and waited for the pretty passes, don't get out of tune chef, I still lova ya no matter what people say about you. :D

I asked you points on what you were giving an observation of. Answer them.

Again I agreed with one point. The Hawks easily could have won all three Losses. I do not believe we were the better team on the ice last night for 60 minutes. That's what wins games.

I'm not out of tune I replied with points. Don't get bent out of shape because I asked, rather explain your position. That's what we do on the board.

No where did I question your love for the team. I questioned your observations.

Worst call of the night was Weber on JT and JT getting the penalty. By far the worst call I've seen so far this young season. Hawks should have had a full 2 minute 5 on 3!

I do not believe we were the better team on the ice last night for 60 minutes. correction last 45 min.Thats what I mean RK, what happened. I guess the game that we say was different, I saw it one way you saw it another, thats fine and yes we should have won all three games, agreed

We are missing our 2nd pair D. That's what happened. Nashville plays us hard and they were the better team for 60 minutes. Now we gave up at least a point but that goes back to our missing D. And Q's goofy decisions.

He's cost us at least two of the three games IMO. He's dicking around.

Probably why I'm having the hardest time selling my tickets to this game.
I unloaded as well. Decided I wanted to watch the game at home and spend some time with my kids.

Decent effort, but nothing to get overly excited about...

The Toews line produced a terrific goal, but not much else. Kopecky made a slick pass to Toews, but I lost count on how many bad decisions he made with the puck last night to either turn it over or stall an attack. Hossa and Toews combined for just three shots on goal.

The Kane line was awful throughout. Sharp didn't have a good game and Bickell, while not making any huge mistakes, didn't get to the danger areas. Beyond the lone snipe on the powerplay, Kane had a weak sauce performance and just 16:59 of ice time. He needs to get those legs moving.

The bottom two lines are workmanlike, but nothing is happening offensively. They're certainly putting other teams to work and don't take a shift off, but they're not surprising anyone in the offensive zone. Bolland and Brouwer are still stuck on zero goals and neither of them look even remotely dangerous with the puck on their sticks.

The defense is what it is. Two all-stars and four sixth defensemen. That's not enough at the NHL level, but it'll vastly improve eventually. Crawford was solid again, but didn't get the bounces. He'll shut some team out soon enough if he keeps playing the way he's playing.

Meh.

Well, I guess if I had to pick a game to leave early at least it was this one.

As others have mentioned, Scott is beyond brutal. For me, the one play that epitomizes him as a hockey player was an innocuous moment where the puck was dumped in and Scott picked it up in RK's corner, the Preds were changing so no pressure, Boynton was wide open cross ice on the other face off circle and Scott still managed to pass it 10 feet away from him. A 30 foot pass to a wide open teammate and he still missed him by 10 feet. You would have a hard time finding a hockey player at any level above peewee that could miss that badly.

My highlight for the night was going into the Sonya Henning room for the first time ever. That was pretty cool, but I still managed to committ a faux pax when I tried to tip the bartender and was told that I wasn't supposed to do that. Ooops.

As fun as it is to go see the Hawks I am much more looking forward to my next trip to the UC, october 26, when my men's league team, The Chicago Outfit gets the keys to the building and the place to ourselves for the night. That's gonna be awesome!

He played not feeling well. Considering that he had a pretty good game since Q decided to jumble his line almost every period.
