Yes, I'm well aware on how the shootout works.

I'm saying that Turco was beat on the last shot by Samuelsson. He just couldn't stick handle it enough to elevate it. Turco began to move thinking Samuelsson was going to deke. Luckily, the shot sailed wide.
Hossa was next.
Question for you goalies (and I only saw the replay once, I'll have to watch it again later):

On the goal that Turco gave up... he seemed to have his pads completely covering the left side of the net, but appeared to turn to his right which opened up like a 5-6" space where the Canucks tapped it in. Did he simply lose his ground or was he trying to get up?
I thought the wistle should have been blown long before they whacked the puck lose.

Game. Set. Match.

Although, neither goaltender had a bead on any of the shooters last night in the SO. It will always irk me that 5 pucks go by two very well playing netminders in a game that we only see 2 cross the line in 65 minutes.

Hawks win. Time to gut one out in St. Louis tomorrow.

Last night when bolland had the breakaway in the last seconds then time expired, I had mentioned in the chat that in all seriousness they should have the team with the breakaway continue even as time expires. but only on a break away almost like a shootout distance. What do you all think??

True, but the Nucks still would have had a chance to answer. The Hawks went first.

Are you drinking this early in the day? First you chop up the most productive line in the NHL, and now this.

I mean, really?

Otherwise, not bad at all by the Hawks. There's still a giant sucking sound where Campbell's supposed to be, but oh well... Best overall defensive game all season by the team. The Sisters were neutralized, save for that garbage tap-in goal by Daniel. Turco's been very unlucky with those types of goals so far.

Four wins on the trot. Not too much to complain about. Let's just keep going.

NEVER! The buzzer is used for a reason. Period is over. Get it done before the period ends or tough shit. If someone shoots and it doesn't cross the line before the buzzer, it doesn't count either.

I have an idea, let's get rid of the Lady Byng Trophy. No one wants to win it anyway. And change the names of the rest of them. Like Rookie of the Year instead of The Calder. That way all hockey fans will now what they mean. What do you guys think? HAhahahaha

I understand what its used for, Im talking about breakaway people. not when there is five players all trying to get the puck in the last seconds or someone shooting when the time expires. Again the distance that bolland had. It doesn't mean its going to happen in every freakin period.

you skate untill the puck is not touched by another player.

I don't know, a rule like that would be very judgmental for officiating to decide.

Building off that thought, I think it might make sense to have running time if a team has a powerplay at the end of the game -- but even that has complications that might not work.

I think the player that gets the game-winning goal almost automatically gets a star. Kind of an unwritten rule. I didn't think Kane deserved a star either.
Yeah I see that, I just don't think that's right, especially when it's a shootout goal, all three guys made Crybaby look just as silly. I would say Hossa was the best forward all night even, but I still would have given the number 2 to stalberg.
