I agree with the "lack of effort" as well RK. The gave up 22 total shots - 4-13-9 (per period).....and had 36. Was PHX "lacking" even more effort? Or if the Hawks were "trying"....would they only allow 11 shots while havin 70?

Anyone know where scoring chances are tracked?

Someone posted Skille is better than Brouwer? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA STOP IT YOU'RE KILLING ME

I CAN'T DO THIS ALL WINTER

Someone compared their first year in the NHL. Unless I missed it somewhere. Who said Brouwer was better than Skille, and Skille is a much better and faster skater than Brouwer thats fur sure.

As of right now Brouwer is in the proverbial dog house. He get's physical, he moves up lines. He doesn't he stays where he is.

The fact that there's all this hand ringing and teeth gnashing over a 4th liner (no matter his name, draft pos, etc.) tells you everything you need to know about the state of the team.

Everyone on the team is to blame - they're all bad right now. But I think we see more Skille commentary because there are a lot of posts saying how wonderful he is simply because he's giving effort and tries hard. While others like myself just don't see much there in terms of talent. His effort is commendable but trying hard with no results still doesn't equal success.

God for fucking bid this team -

1)Didnt wint the cup 6 months ago

2) Were 4-13-1

3)Were getting their asses kicked on a nightly basis

Losing a bunch of 1 goal games with new players, this early in the season....and they're playing horribly. I would fucking hate to be teammates with alot of people here. Obviously, some never played in a team atmosphere....and bail at first sign of adversity.

Last March...the Hawks went 6-7-2....I wonder how many of the same people crying now, were the same then. Or the tears that were flowing when they went down 2 games to 1 vs Nash...and all the talk was "how bad they played down the stretch" bullshit.

I guess it's easier if they lose/play poor to jump off the ship and have darkness reign...than to see that they've been outshooting the shit out of some teams and just not finishing. And...being around the game along time, seeing what Toews, Kane, Hossa, Sharp...have done in their fucking careers - tells me it'll be a matter of time before they start going in.

I know it was 11-7 in favor of CHI going into the 3rd - per the PHX announcers....I dont know where it ended, but they only had 5 shots in the 3rd against the lazy, effortless Hawks.

Exactly. Yeah, I know, all the things you've listed can be viewed as "excuses" but damn. Even playing lousy, with their #1 d-man having maybe the most difficulty of all, they're not giving up a ton of goals and they're getting plenty of good chances but simply getting stoned because the other team's goalie is always going to be up for the Hawks (and not necessarily for the Canes). They don't seem all that far off to me. But that's probably because I'm the world's biggest Pollyanna.

Do I wish they were winning? Of course. But I'm not ready to throw these great players out with the trash. Anything can happen during the NHL season. I can only hope the players are telling the truth when they say they're not turning on one another the way their fans have.

At some point Q is going to have to come up with some lines and leave them there.

Other than that I completely agree. I'm surprised they've lost 7 one goal games, and 7 over all loses at the UC, but EIGHTY TWO games is a long, long season.

They'll figure it out.

Just think now you can watch them lose at home on TV!

And I think....and knock on wood...come Saturday, game 20, when the Hawks finally have their full roster for the first time this year, we'll see more set lines in the next 2-3 weeks.

I dont doubt, there will be some more tinkering, but I think they've found some roles for guys like Pisani, Dowell, Skille, Stalberg....Bickell and Brouwer need to figure things out still...but they'll get where they need to be.

Crying = pointing out areas for improvement? Come on... Fans are going to voice complaints about how the team is playing. I see maybe one person that is writing this team off and saying they won't even make the playoffs. Everyone here knows this team is still damn good, and are playing well below what they are capable of. The guys here won the fucking cup for ****'s sake. Everyone knows what they are capable of. Sooner or later though, if they don't pull out of this funk they're in, it WILL be time to worry.

You shouldn't take criticism of the Hawks so personally. It happens everywhere, for every team, in every sport, when things aren't going well. This board is Suzy Sunshine when it comes to the team, compared to most of the others.

Some of them.

As for the second I read the other three and actually believe it's tamer around here verses the other boards that are itching to ***** about anything. So I disagree.

Maybe you misunderstood. What I meant was, the complaining on this board is nothing compared to the others.... So, you actually agree.

The main reason you shouldn't is this team has deserved every fucking bit of the criticism.

Also, if the crowd at the UC is dead, it's because the play on the ice has made them that way.

It starts on the ice.

Or it's because so many season ticket holders, who are the fans are dumping their tickets and those taking them don't have a fucking clue?

Just sayin..

Some times the crowd can rally a team to victory. Not the crowd in the UC that's for sure.

hahahah its so funny around here after a loss....

You mean after four losses in the last five games and four straight losses at home? C'mon Stu....this isn't just "whining after one loss".....this is chronic under-achieving by a Stanley Cup winner....
