TGDT: 11/3 Devils @ Blackhawks 7:30PM CSN

Never said anything about either of their talent which speaks for itself. Just don't like either of them.

I know. Just couldn't help it but point those tiny little facts out to you.

I agree Mass, but teams like the Devils tonight are often far more dangerous than other teams that might be more talented.

But..but..but...We have Brian Campbell back!!!

Which should 100% be evident once those two get back into the groove. It was already evident in NY when Hjarlmarsson had much less puck touches than any game this year.

So, sarcastic or not that statement you typed is most definitely factual.

Fatso being the best goalie in the history of the game. Small minor detail.

Kovalchuck being in the top 10 forwards in the league currently. Small minor detail.

Numbers might not be good right now, but there is no denying the MASSIVE talent of either player.

Slam either one all you want their credentials speak for themselves. Especially "Fatso's".

And much like Kane, Kovy has been slow.

On one hand, losing Parise for them hurts. bad.

On the other hand, it could be just our luck that they both get smoking hot for this game.

That being said, I still cannot come up with any reason why we should lose this game. If we do lose, It will likely be a deficincy on our part rather than playing the lights out and geting stoned.

Kane being slow is false. He has the same exact amount of points right now through 13 games, as he did last year.

He is 1pt shy of being a point per game player.

Duncans point total is ahead of last year but then again so are his giveaways ending up in the back of the net.

Yes, but he was a +4 last year and a -6 this year. Which I don't want to get into the reason and the argument of the stat and such, but it's a different team and a different time, and the hawks really need him to find another gear if they are going to be successful with such a large turnover. Unfortunately he's been the same great Kane as last year. I definitely liked what I saw out of him on Friday (I think? Edmonton?) when they were getting blown out and I said ok Kane you need to do something now, he scored the goal, was fired up and showed he still wants to win. It's all there, he just needs to put it all together. And maybe have a solid line.

And don't forget that amazingly from last year his Ice time is up. Leading the league. His totals should be up if he's playing over 29 mins a game. That too also directly contributes to higher giveaways. Not only is he on the ice more for the goals, but he's gotta be taking the wear and team some.

Agreed. His +/- has been shit, though.

Lots of power play points, je suppose.

Needs to pick that up.

As Cimaglia said today -- "The Devils come into town like a dangerous wounded animal."

I was going to say that they're like that crazed animal in the corner just about to attack you..so hopefully the Hawks will be able to put them down

He and Sharp have the uncanny ability to jump on the ice just as the opposition scores a goal. They have both done it several times this year.

Not sure how you can make this post, and yet, defend Kane. Kane, who, while putting up points at the same pace as last year, has been on the ice for more goals against than any other Hawk player, including Keith and Seabrook. Oh, and he's also leading the league in that stat as well, and near the top in GAON/60 to boot. Don't let facts get in the way of your bias though.

Translated? Kane needs to pick up his puck possession game so we're playing in the opposition zone, and start playing both sides of the ice. Seems he is looking to cherry pick quite a bit this year.

Do you think that with Coach Q moving him down to the third line he had motivation to get out there and try to light it up and get himself out of his slump?

I would hope he got the hint that Q wanted him to start playing a more responsible game.

And, on the giveaway topic, Kane is second in forwards in giveaways, behind one David Bolland.

Edit: Nevermind that the giveaway stat is useless, but if people are going to continue to bring it up, might as well use it in the counter arguments.

The Devils are a hot mess right now. If the Hawks lose tonight, at home, to that team, well, let's just say I'm going to start to worry.

Amazing the depth we lost this offseason to have to field a line like this.

Yeah, that fourth line is atrocious, but has anyone watched NJ this year? Talk about garbage on ice.
