I'm tired just looking at the schedule these guys have played the first month of the season.

Talked about it in chat, but I think we're just seeing a really, really tired team. I really didn't realize how ridiculous their schedule was, until I looked at the whole thing on paper. A game every other day, and three back-to-backs in that stretch. We averaged LESS than a day of rest between games for the first month of the season. When you consider travel time, that is fucking ridiculous, and there's no excuse for that kind of scheduling.

The mistakes we keep making, are mistakes tired players make.

we just gotta play .500 hockey and wait for everyone to get hot and win 20 games in a row... then were in the playoffs... you know its just our luck we wait so fucking long to win a cup...then the following year our team is a .500 club.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Fire
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Saw this at The 300 Level:

7 of 8 losses the Hawks have occurred after they were leading/tied in the 3rd period.

Fucking disgusting....Maybe all will better when David Bolland comes back.

and this is why you need your 3rd and 4th line to start showing up more and showing some character and some gritt. I actually think Scott did his best tonight to motivate the team with his fight..get the crowd in the game and stir up some energy. Don't think some of the Hawks bit though. Which is sad. We have young legs on this team they can handle the schedule. Yes it is bad and yes it is unfair but I still think the effort from the 3rd and 4th lines could and should be better than they have been.

I understand the schedule argument and I agree its going to effect the record. But come on now the Hawks have more talent than to be in one goal games all through the schedule and to have the rough 3rd periods that they have been having. Or maybe they don't have enough talent? Top 2 lines sure do but the other 2 lines? Maybe the hard truth is that there isn't much talent there. We will see. But so far this season those lines have left a lot to be desired and I am talking more than skill and talent here. Zero character...its hard to watch their energy level and little passion.

+1 for you... lost in the discussion of how the Hawks have the same amount of points as teams that have 4 or 5 games in hand is the ridiculous scheduling which helped put them in that position.

Khabby stole 2 points for the Oilers tonight.

When will big guns get it going on a consistent basis?

Good thing I was at the game and not playing the "take a shot when Keith gives the puck away game"

I would have been hammered early.

I realize the Hawks schedule is top heavy. With all due respect, your post cannot explain away these clusterfucks:

October 23rd loss at home to Columbus. Both teams played the evening prior to this tilt(Respects to Bill "Tilt" Clement).

October 29th loss at home to Edmonton. Oil lost to Columbus the night prior with the Hawks off.

November 3rd loss at home to Jersey. Hawks off the night prior while the Devils come off a lost road trip w/o Parise.

Khabby should get credit, he had some amazing saves that I thought were certain Hawks goals.

Playing every other day is taxing on your body. Younger kids should have quicker recovery times, but I think we are seeing more mental fatigue than anything else. They have been going non-stop since training camp, with only a day or two off in that entire two months. The guys from last year have basically been going non-stop for 18 months. There really was no "break" this offseason with all the appearances and media attention. Not to mention, when you are playing that many games without any days off between, the physical toll piles up on you. All the aches and pains are amplified when you are going all out every other night, and a lot of the time, two nights in a row. Again, younger guys should have quicker recovery times, but still, they have to condition themselves to recover like that. I can tell you I have never seen a schedule this compacted before. It really is ridiculous. It looks like a fucking baseball team's schedule...

If he learned how to shoot, he might not break his sticks on prime scoring chances...

Bickell is REALLY in the doghouse if Scott is dressing in his place.

Sounds like a team that just has nothing in the tank to me.

Scott is lucky the linesman came in and prevented him from being charged with murder. Finally making yourself almost useful, Scott.

Maybe he can kick the asses of the people manufacturing his sticks.

Scott just beat the living shit out of him. What an ass kicking. Mean while the Oilers again take 2pts from us.

Oi Vey.

Last I checked holding the puck and skating with it was a penalty.

Yea and the linesman might have saved the last tooth Stortini has.

Are you talking about the guy who grabbed the puck and cupped it on his chest? I was wondering if that could be a "closing hand on puck" penalty.

Khabi with the game tying save on JT.... Just wow.

I won't harp on officiating because up until the last few minutes I thought it was fine. In that last two minutes there were three clear penalties that werent called. The catching the puck in front of their net then skating to the corner before dropping it was blatant. You have to call that.

Officials sucked equally bad both ways I thought. Lots of missed calls, and the calls they made were ticky tack shit. Kane's hooking penalty? I mean, really?

Great save, but if Toews holds that puck an extra half second, he tucks it into an empty half of the net. There was no way Khabi was getting all the way across the crease.

Yes, some calls were missed (both ways), and i usually dont complain primarily because the game is so fast and some calls are going to missed. Btt the dude who decided to carry the puck out of trouble... Come on! That they saw and it was NOT split second. No excuse there.
