Embarrassing.

Paging Defenseman and forwards: Please cover the front of the net.

Now I get to go study for 3 finals tomorrow. What a phenomenal night, guess I'm going to be having a few beers while I'm studying to help forget about this debacle.

Absolutely awful game by Seabrook and Turco. Hawks have had too much trouble with the shift after scoring a goal or closing games this year. Make Crawford the official #1 already, it's clear the team plays better with him in net. The puck playing style of Turco just seems to confuse the rest of the team and they play like shit when he's in net.

What a chokejob. Wow.

ALTHOUGH, it was great to see the secondary scoring. Welcome to the season, Brouwer!

After every embarrassing loss this year I've hoped that the team would finally get their shit together, but that's not happening with this team, is it?

That loss was no way Turco's fault. I agree that Crawford should be given the majority of the starts because the team just plays better in front of him at this point, but let's not pin this on Turco. Keith, Seabs, Skille...well, did ANYONE on the team not turn the puck over in the defensive end? Further, did these guys forget how to pass? These have been issues since day one of the season....

...

...

...

So what the hell is Q and the coaching staff doing about this? Even though you can't coach drive and intensity, it's going to be hard to accumulate wins if we can't clear the zone, can't make a good clean feed to a shooter that *could* be one-timed, and keep turning the puck over in our own zone.

Taking the foot off the accelerator is part of the issue, but to me it seems that the team has forgot hockey 101.

IMHO neither Turco or Crawford are the issue right now. Very few of our games we lost that could be directly attributed to goaltending IMHO.

Dead on with your assessment. Defense wins, and most of the time when we don't win it's cause we forgot to play defense. Especially right now with the amount of injuries we have. Watch the highlights from tonight, 4 of the 6 goals were people turning the puck over or losing their man in front of the net. Turco, Crawford, Dryden and even Jesus wouldn't have stopped those shots

Throw in Hextall to beat the snot out of the player causing the turnover and at least it's a Pyrrhic victory.

I thought Brouwer and Toews had a good game.

Defense got lazy and did not have their heads in the game.

Crawford didn't have any better luck by his defense.... anyone blaming Turco for this is an idiot.

John Scott didn't have a bad one in all honesty... and he did his job and went with that pussy **** Koci who didn't tie down before the game because he knew he would get manhandled and wanted the refs to stop the fight early.

Well if this team goes with Duncan Keith it really goes down the pooper when both he and Seabrook have horrible games (and horrible is being kind). I am not sure who was worse tonight and together they were a pair of bumbling idiots out there.

Offense got the job done but holy crap talk about a bunch of guys that need to be skated hard because team defense sucked ass. When team defense sucks at the same time as Keith and Seabs sucking ass the team looks like a bunch of saggy paper bags laying on the ice hoping someone will skate over them and put them out of their misery.

But yah "team defense" is one thing. Some guys actually had decent enough games tonight on that end of things. But Seabs and Dunc? Holy stab me in the eye with a rusty sock. They were brutal.

Crazy ass game...craaaazy ass game. When you are getting offensive contributions from the type of guys who were scoring tonight you better play some freaking defense to hold a lead. And you better play defense after you score a mother ehfing goal!!! Is it in these guys heads? Is that the problem? I have never seen anything like it before. There must be a record for allowing the most goals against in less than a minute after you score one. And if there is a record I can pretty much assure you the Hawks have it and it will be in the record books for a long long time. It's a disgrace..I don't understand it..it's freaking baffling.

Anyways the ice sucked tonight.

What TCD said. I'd like to know who the imposters were who were wearing 2 and 7 out there tonight. Ouch. They had been playing so well since the end of the Circus Trip but last night was a total abomination. Or I hope it was an abomination and that they get back to normal pronto. Keith and Seabs just cannot suck when this team is missing Hossa, Kane, Bolland, and even Pisani.

Honestly, I think if I were Q I would put Turco right back out there Wednesday night and force the team to play well in front of him. I know Q can't really afford that luxury but for whatever reason, the d-men in particular seem to be sucking when Marty is in net and they need to learn to stop that. (Though I still think Marty plays the puck too much - and that was just for you, Ton!

Agree that Toews and Brouwer looked very good. And that's about the only good thing I can think of right now!

I agree that team defense has sucked and you can't blame Turco for most (not all) of the goals he allowed. But Seabrook DIRECTLY cost us the Avs 5th and 6th goals out there tonight plain and simple. He just shit the bed....

The Hawks are an easy team to play against. The team misses its big hitters and the nastiness that was present last year.

I love the look on Hjarmarrson's face when McLeod scored the third Avalanche goal. He looks over his left shoulder into the slot as if to suggest "Who's guy is that?"

Uhh.... Nik, that's your guy buddy. Your guy.

This team has lost all concept of team defense. On the McLeod goal, there were two defensemen looking behind the net at the guy who passed it into a wide open McLeod standing in the slot. The two forwards who were suppose to be back checking? Both standing inside the circles manning up on nobody, also looking at the puck carrier.

Disgusting really.
