From here on out..Hawks must

Outhit

Out Shoot

Be better on the PK

Be better on the PP

Have better line changes

Score on every shot

Not give up a single goal

Do everything with flair for entertainment value

Do not mix/match lines

Anything else is unacceptable because every other team that wins games does that every single shift/game.

How about not have 2+ goals scored within 2 minutes of eachother every other game or get smoked after having a 3 goal lead.

How about WIN the game - second of a back to back within 20 hours to a team that had a day off beforehand, division/long time rival, on the road, without your head coach, against a team thats been on fire offensively, and only 3pts behind them with games in hand.

Yeah. Hawks won. Showed guts/toughness to pull that out. Midway throught the 3rd, when STL was trailing...Hawks were outshooting them 3-2 while protecting the lead. Sorry there werent any fights to entertain you.

Yea the "toughnness" they showed today is really going to work against the top teams in the playoffs.

Yeah...DET (21) is a pretty physical team. As is VAN (13), SJ (20), NASH (24), CAL(25)....almost all in bottom 3rd of the league in physical play. Oh...and PITT is 2nd and Hawks just took 2pts in that game.

How is that ranked? Just by hits?

Who said anything about physical play? "Toughness" goes beyond hits.

Although there was less than 20 hours between games. That is a crazy turnaround so it was nice to see the Hawks pull it out.

No to mention they were home and away.

Yea I am happy about the win considering the circumstances. But I am not basing any opinions off of one game... talking about the 60 game body of work NOT JUST THIS GAME.

2 points is 2 points... you get as many points for a win against Philly or Detroit as you do against Edmonton.

But everyone knows how the playoffs are and OVER 60 GAMES this team really hasn't showed but a handful of games that they could make a deep playoff run.

Next 4 games could be the determining factor on the playoffs.

Oh..so did you notice the blocked shots by Hossa twice, Sharp and Johnson at the end?

Durrrrrr that's what I'm saying. I asked what the "physical play" ranking incorporates and said that there's more to toughness than hitting and you didn't answer.

Drrrr....you "laughed" off their toughness today as if it didnt mean anything. I think I put a list of things they were up against today that showed quite a bit of toughness and charater....because in your eyes, STL not being a playoff or top team, it doesnt mean as much since theyre not in the top of the standings.

Where did I say that? Had they won today they'd be 1 point behind the Hawks. They are as much of a "playoff team" as the Hawks are.

Then I dont understand this at all.

St. Louis is not Detroit or Vancouver (aka a top team). Assuming the Hawks get in and make a run, they're going to have to play one of those teams.

Once again... the Hawks always seem to have ONE period where they look like last year's team, one terrible period and one "meh" period. This is over the course of 60 games not just this one in particular. Not going to cut it in the playoffs.

I'm not in the camp of the Hawks are going to miss the playoffs... but I am in the camp that they don't have what it takes to make a run once they get there.

Then again look at Philly last year, anything can happen.

I thought they played well enough against VAN this year where I think they could compete against them in the playoffs. I thought they outplayed them at their place last game. I think the Hawks match up well vs DET as well.

There's not many teams at any point of a season that dominates for 60 min every game of every season - even last year's team had flaws/times in games they looked bad.

Well unless VAN gets their defense back... anyone matches up against them well LOL.
