Only problem I had was that with 5 minutes left in the game the Hawks resorted to protecting the lead again and were having difficulty clearing the puck from their zone. Within that 5 minute the Blues had 5-6 quality scoring chances and **** me if the Hawks didn't luck out with a few pucks just missing the net. Must have had 4 heart attacks within that 5 minute span.

Other than that 2 points 2 points. Nice 2nd period rally which showed some desperation.

Nice to see Hossa block some massive shots today too. If you aren't scoring these are the things you need to do. Don't think there has been a game this season where Hossa put his body on the line more than today. He will have some nasty bruises but he showed some gutts.

The back to back wins are big even though the teams playing aren't of the highest quality right now. I agree with pmx though with some of the variables right now it doesn't matter who the 2 teams are these 2 wins could be the ones that change the momentum for this club.

I cross my fingers.

What gets me is the PP dance, WOW

In pre game they show you how to do it.

Well, I was pretty darn close in my prediction of the Hawks winning 4-2. And, since I was at the game, I was able to do the Jako version of their PP dance after WE scored on the PP.

Once again, there were tons of Hawk fans at the game, but some of them were really asking for a beat down when they were celebrating in the street after the game. They were truly obnoxious...

What a absolute Crazy fucking time. The game, the sad start, the come back, the ending down by the players after the game, and th DISASTER called ILLINOIS ROADS on the way home.

I will never forget today!

Crazy!

I might have some on my phone. Every goal but the EN was right in front of us.

I have to say there are some nice Blues fans, but the vast majority are just dumb.

Oh and to all the doubters and half glass empty folks..

5pts from having home ice in the playoffs. They CAN do it!

Not to burst your bubble but that would require them to play their best stretch of 20 games all season. Probably something like 15-3-2. Mix that around however you like. That would give the two games left, and 100 points, which still may not be enough but could be.

Best 20 game stretch of the season looks like it was 12-6-2, which would give them 96 points and two games remaining. That may be good enough for 7th-8th this year, maybe a little higher depending on how the last two games go. Probably not home ice though unless they win both and its still a toss up at that point.

Either way, I don't see it being very realistic and that is some pretty lofty expectations for this team to compile a record like that in the final 20 games. It's possible, just sayin' I wouldn't exactly count on it.

Last year Nashville had 100 points which was good for 7th place in the West. Year before 100 points would have been good for 5th in the West. The year before that is the same. Things would really have to turn in our favor to gain home ice. Also, they are 4 points out of home ice, not 5... 12 points out of 1st in the division as well.

EDIT: I suppose they are 5 points out if you aren't considering a tie for 4th at the end of the year, which can still give them home ice if they have more wins, which it certainly could happen.

Ron, spotted you outside before the gates opened up (along Clark Ave.) but didn't get a chance to holler. We were in nosebleed, but had a great view. We hit some snow on the way back to the Quad Cities, and just as we arrived, the roads were icing up and the salt trucks were out.

You are correct about an unforgettable day -- thought we were toast two minutes into the second, but the boys really battled back well. We had more Hawks fans in our area than Blues fans. And, yes, some of the Blues fans are turds. Two young guys next to us wouldn't even talk to us. There was a couple behind us that were friendly, though. All in all, a great day!

Do you think I'm an idiot? I didn't mean through out the entire playoffs. But thanks for spelling it out for me. I started watching the fucking game yesterday.

They are 2.5 games from having home ice in the first round. Will they make it, who knows.

Going by last years numbers is DUMB> The enitre conference other than Vancouver is OFF of last years numbers.

Speculate on where teams will finish all you want. Long way to GO and a LOT of Conference games by all teams left.

Haha no I don't thik you are an idiot. The last few years teams have needed more than 100 points to make it to the 4th spot, that's what I was getting at.

The Eastern conference has been different though, if the West plays out anything like the East did the last few years, 100 points just might be enough to make it in 4th, maybe even as low as 98 points.

Even then, they must get 14-15 wins in their next 22 games. Kind of a stretch isn't it? Best 22 game stretch this year was 12-8-2 which is good for 96 points, is that enough for home ice? I don't know, but even then that is tying their BEST stretch all year.

Its possible, just sayin' its going to be really difficult.

I don't understand...some of you are counting out the hawks with nearly 20-30 games left, and were tied for 7th. some of you had the doors closed and were saying the game was over in the first Period in yesterday's game too. Before you close the door on this team wait till the season is over. Teams have gotten in the playoffs with winning the last game. The Last Game! Look at last year since all you guys are bringing in last years stats. Right now Positive vibe is whats needed in here. Hate to sound like the voice of reason, but the way this season has gone, with all the bulshit, some optimism torwards our beloved Hawks wouldn't hurt...for god sakes some of you guys are sounding like PUCKJIM!

although it is entirely possible I'm an idiot. That said, this team can stop giving away games like Friday at any point. Why they haven't is a good question. Again there are 10 games easy they should have won. That's 20pts right there.

They are +23 or some crazy number. It's entirely possible for them to finish the season 14-5-3 or something like that.

Glass half full.

Acco I agree 100%.

RK..you are an idiot. Not just a possibility. You are as much of an idiot as TCD is Jako's lover.

With that said, you know I think (like you) the Hawks deserve much better than thier record. Even against CLB, several times Mason was beaten and they still didn't score. Seems like all year the hockey gods haven't evened out the bad bounces - yet. But this team has kept battling/plugging away.

I still blieve this team will make the playoffs and I'd bet not one team is going to want to face them in round 1.

I just want the Hawks to take care of business. I find it sickening rooting for Detroit and Vancouver to win against Hawks playoff rivals.

The hawks have 22 games to go, and are tied for 10th because of number of games played. I don't think anyone is giving up on them because they are 5 points away from second. They need a run is all, but they have been playing .500 lately (with to OTL) and in there are a lot of teams in the same boat as them. Some teams are going to get hot, some are going to get cold. I'd say it's about 50/50 right now. If the hawks don't play better it doesn't matter how close they are, missing the playoffs by one point or 10 still is missing the playoffs. Right now in the west there are 13 teams fighting for playoff position. I'd say 11 for the spots that the hawks are looking at. (10 not considering the 3rd spot as a division spot. The hawks can't simple play their way into a spot by playing decent enough. Every team is in and it's about to get brutal, they have to be more consistent than .500. Positive vibes are one thing, but reality is they have as good a chance as any to not make it. at this point. If they win 12 of the last 22. that's 92. And say they get a couple OTL in there. That's 94... I say they don't make it. Everyone is too close right now and a couple of those teams will make runs. There have been 102 OTL so far this year, that's 102 extra points. I don't know where that compares to previous years, but it seems like a good deal more. When that happens everything gets silly. I bet a team sniffs 98-100 points this year and doesn't make the playoffs.

How much you want to bet? Autographed Hat?

They are tied in points with 7th, Just as much as 10th. When the season is over and all games are played, then you can make that statement. Until then 5 teams have 68pts. Calgary with 70 would be the 6th team, who the Hawks have a game in hand against them.

I'll bet some one with 94pts makes it.

Sure... ANOTHER Autographed hat... hahaah

And no, they aren't tied for 7th as much as they are tied for 10th because they can go down in the standings without even playing a game. If someone loses they don't go up. they just stay tied. If they have the same number of points as another team but too more games, then they have lost more than the other team, they have a lower win percentage so they are not tied at all.

It's going to get tighter and tighter and stay this way all the way through the last game, there will be some separation, but I bet at the end of the season you still have at least 7 of these 10 teams fighting for a spot still able to take it from the other. Maybe 98 points and missing the playoffs is a little much, because they will all start taking points from each other, but I don't think that any of the teams are going to start running away with anything.
