I'm not a fan. I wasn't a fan when they did it to Morrison, and I'm not a fan in this situation either. Regardless of how big a piece of shit Thornton is. Sometimes, you just need to learn to shut the **** up and play hockey. There's a difference between chirping guys on the ice and getting under their skin, and running your mouth at a guy that got hurt. The former can get the other team off their game and get them to take stupid penalties. The latter will usually result in giving the other team extra motivation to kick your asses all over the ice. It's pretty fucking bush league too. How would you feel if Vancouver was taunting Toews after Mitchell destroyed him at center ice? Seriously, what good does it do to run your mouth at a guy that likely won't be back in the game? I see nothing to be gained. The only teams I've ever played against that have taunted injured players, were fucking classless hacks. Hawks aren't exactly one of the toughest teams in the NHL, so running their mouths is pretty stupid if you ask me. They have what, two, maybe three guys dressing every night that can back up their mouths?

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Thornton deserved it.

Well Toews isn't a "piece of shit" like you so eloquently put it for Thornton. And how do you know the Canucks players didn't taunt him... maybe Toews is just too classy to ***** about it? I'm sure Thornton has NEVER taunted an opponent that got hurt on the ice. Guy needs to shut the hell up.

Maybe he shouldn't be going after guys like Pisani?

That was pretty tough of him.

His knee-on-knee with Hjalmarson looked intentional, too.

RE: Thornton's injury:

I bet the Hawks didn't know he was cut by a skate as he went by the bench and as Biscuit noted, who knows what was really said to set Thornton off. Was his reaction justifed or was it an overeaction to what was said?

RE: The Game

The first two goals were deflected past Craw. Can't fault his performance last night. We were outshot 12-5 in the first and he kept us in it till that puck deflected off Campbell halfway in the second. After the second goal went in, seemed like the wind went out of the sails for the boys.

Three games in four nights (with travel before the second and third games) and all the back-to-back games can't help. That said, we should be well rested for Friday's and Sunday's games.

if he's gonna get sad about the comments maybe he should tell wrecking ball recchi to shut his mouth regarding pacioretty's injury.

thought they held their own until that second goal. 3 tough games in 4 days, it was a tough go and solid effort. just not a lot of finish tonight. thomas is obviously on a roll.

regroup and get 2 friday. **** up somebody's day on sunday night for a little bolland revenge.

I don't agree with taunting guys that are obviously hurt. Did Morrison deserve it too? Sorry, it's bush league. I realize how much trash talk goes on during games. I've played a long, long time. However, most guys draw the line when it comes to talking shit to guys that are hurt. Most of the time you'll see a little stick tapping on the ice or on the boards when the guy gets up and appears to be OK. Trash talking a guy that was an inch or so away from having his eye cut out, and is bleeding all over the place? Come on. You could see the ref having words with the Hawks' bench afterwards too, so obviously something was said that probably shouldn't have been. That's really not a reputation you want to have...

Who the **** is Thornton supposed to go after that could actually fight him on the Hawks? Bickell didn't appear to want any part of any Boston players last night. He had several chances to get into the scrums and make his presence felt. Got rocked a few times and just took it. Guy is turning into a gigantic pussy. Brouwer didn't show any toughness either. We don't need Seabrook fighting anyone, and he's too smart to fight a guy like Thornton anyways. Everyone else on the Hawks would get absolutely demolished by Thornton. The Hawks just aren't a tough team. We'd be complaining regardless of who he went after, so, how about we don't complain about it?

But that was a wiley veteran move to protect the captain, if you believe Recchi's post hoc rationalization. LOL

Pez he went after Pisani before he got sliced.

And its pretty clear John Scott should have played instead of Pisani against a team like the Bruins. Thornton would have slowed his role quickly after the knee to Hammer and I bet Ference doesn't try to fight Hossa either.

Well, Pisani is pretty much worthless, so no argument there. Probably why I couldn't care less that Thornton went after him, to be honest. The bottom line is, this Hawks' team isn't intimidating anyone. Even with Scott in the lineup. He's just not on the ice enough to have an impact. The fourth liners really aren't fourth liners. Stalberg? Pisani? Johnson? It's pretty fucking sad when the closest thing we have to an energy guy is Stalberg.

It sucked sitting in a sea of brown and yellow watching the boys lose in a shutout. Bruins deserved the win outplaying the Hawks. Shot differential only got close because after the B's had a 3-0 cushion they took the foot off the pedal. Thomas made some great stops, Crawford let in a soft 2nd goal. Campbell won't play through a hit, but just give up the puck to avoid getting hit, often resulting in turnovers. Lots of jarring tonight between the two Captains. Behind us a B's fan was giving some other Hawks fans a hard time but he cracked when a Hawks fan kept referencing 1972. Pretty funny.

All they needed to do was remind the Bruins fan that they were the 2nd team in history to cough up a 3-0 lead last year and lose 4 straight. They are the Choke Kings of the NHL.

They have no room to chirp on shit. 3rd game in 4 days, on the second half of back to back. Yea.

Bruin fans are idiots.

That's why no NHL team wants them in the first round right? I can tell you for fact that this is the team most fear in the playoffs. So I would say that's intimidation, wouldn't you?

Eh, there is yapping all the time. Besides we do not know what was said other than Thronton's view...which is usually pretty skewed to begin with. The yapping was probably only brought up because Thronton reacted and either (1) was asked by the media why he reacted; or (2) brought it up himself to the media as most of the larger yappers tend to due when they obviously let their pussy get hurt by a comment.

Also, the yapping does work, as much as people would like to think it does not. Why else would have Thronton reacted if it did not? I am going with the pussy hurt option.

As far as the game, Boston was more than ready for this one and that was evident from the get go. The 'Hawks were hanging in there until the two quick goals from Boston, but ultimately I had the feeling going into the second that unless the 'Hawks got lucky bounces they were going to lose.

Oh well, on to Friday and the BJ's. Dallas needs 4 more points than the 'Hawks to push them out of the playoffs (yes I am already writing Calgary out, but they need 4 more points as well). Games left: Flamers 5, Hawks 6, Stars 7.

Exactly.

I was referring to physical intimidation. Nothing else. Their talent is intimidating. No doubt about that.

Shawn Thornton butthurt by some comments made from the Hawks bench after he gut cut.

http://www.chicagobreakingsports.co...s-infuriate-thornton-20110329,0,7263110.story

It seems the Hawks have the verbal and psychological game working well. Too bad they couldn't back it up on the ice this time.

Cry me a fucking river! WAAAAAAA WAAAAAAA Wonder what Burrish would say to this?

"I'll deal with it in my own way"... haha When, next year? You won't be in the finals there Thornton buddy.

Best is the dumb ass commenting. "this is what gets players like Bolland and SHarp hurt".

Really? Dumb ****. Bolland was elbowed to the head and Sharp was incedental contact.

Comments like this are what make Hawk fans look like fucking MORONS!

"Yeah, something was said," Thornton told reporters after the game. "Obviously, I can’t swear when I talk to you guys. There was some stuff said that I'm not happy about. I'm going to find out who it was and I will deal with it in my own way."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How's he going to find out who said whatever was said? LMAO

Newsflash! 4 Hawks intimidated by Sean Thornton's threat (insert: "called" "texted" or "tweeted") him and snitched on (insert Hawks player's name).

I don't think ANY team physically intimidates another. NONE.

Last night?

You sure? They might have the best chance out of the East.

Hawks werent intimidated last night, they were fucking gassed. That's pretty clear.

No way does boston come out of the East. Penguins, especially if the kid comes back, Philly.... ect ect....

Boston like last year, will choke.

I never said they lost because they were intimidated, obviously they were gassed, thank you Captain Obvious! Line-up against a 7ft Chara, Lucic, Horton, Thornton and tell me you wouldn't be intimidated with a straight face. Doesn't mean they lost because of that but it's still intimidating when you face a bigger team. No one on the Hawks dared to mix it up last night.

Boston didn't have as strong of a team last year. This year could be different. Boston and Philly are pretty strong, so are the Caps. Pens need Sid or they aren't going to the Finals -- he's traveling with the team, so like Sharp he may be back for the 1st round. Boston has had no trouble against Philly, Washington, or the Penguins this year. Maybe a little trouble against the Rangers, so they should hope that they don't face them in round 1.

It is becoming increasingly frustrating to watch Frolik miss, chance after chance. One posistive is that he rarely missed the net (hopefully one day someone will get a rebound)I think he just likes shooting at logos.

I also found myself yelling at Kreuger to SKATE!!! I haven't yelled that at a Hawks player for a long time, he seems to have no appetite for the puck.

I think one thing everyone can agree on is that Boston will choke. It's what Boston does in the playoffs. Same for the Sharks and Canucks. Any team with Joe Thornton seems to choke.

I can 100% tell you none of these NHL PLAYERS are intimidated by another team. You can think that they were all you want, but you don't play at that level, in the NHL.

I think most of the Hawks WANT the Canucks in the first round, assuming they make it. Yea they are intimidated alright, hoping to get the best team in the NHL right off the bat.

Boston will prove something when they win in the playoffs. As of right now, they are the 2nd team in history to lose a series when UP 3-0....

Captain obvious... intimidated.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Yea right!
