Just because Florida is under tallon doesn't mean I shouldn't take them lightly. They are at thirteeth for a reason...they suck. I don't care if talon is their or not. Some of you guys want to see Florida succeed, I don't. I like Tallon and I thank him for his job he did here in Chicago, and was a contributing part in the quest fo rthe cup, but he also screwed things up by overpaying. And for that 30+ percent of our Cup winning roster is gone. I like the guy, but hey when your the doormats of the NHL for years, and you have multiple #1 draft picks..its not that hard to get a great team in place with some hockey brains. I will support the Hawks and only the Hawks. I will not support any other team just because someone got screwed out of a job or should have gotten credit for something...its business and he cost this team millions.

Now I will wait for your bashing comments torwards IMO post.

Honestly no one on the cup winning team was terribly overpaid. Bolland and Buff are the two guys that were overpaid and both were paid on potential. Buff turned out to be worth every dime. Bolland some games he's worth it some not, in the playoffs he was worth it.

Campbell. Campbell is not overpaid. Everyone thinks he is but he isnt.

Dan Boyle - 6.66 mil a year

Brian Campbell - 7.1 mil a year

There is a premium on a defenseman with that skill set. About 10 years from now it won't be there since so many Dmen are developing an offensive game. But those two players are the premier puck moving Dmen in the league. I can't think of a 3rd that isnt on an RFA contract right now. Weber comes to mind and he's an RFA.

Now prior to the Kane Toews era did Dale overpay. YEP. But any GM that wanted to bring talent to the team would have to overpay. Havlat, Habby, Aucoin, etc were all overpaid to be the stars on shit teams. Huet is exempt because the debate of whether McSplash was the man that called the shots on that signing.

The only players on this team who may possibly even closely resemble overpaid is Campbell and Hossa, and if you'll remember correctly Campbell was the splash player when McD came in and Talon wanted Havlat over Hossa. But someone made that not happen. Sure this is probably partly speculation, but all I really have to do is point to the other Splash that was overpaid and no longer here.... Think real hard who that is, because they are still overpaying him as we speak.

Look at the roster and their salaries and I'd say they are all pretty much steals, starting at the top with Sharp, who he not only stole in a trade, but dick-whipped with a damn good contract for the club.

Plus the bonuses Toews and Kane made for the MVP, etc.... that counted toward the cap didn't help much either.

How the hell can you put Aucoin in the same sentence with talent???

If you'd check his numbers since being in Chicago he's played pretty well. It's not his fault Chicago played him in a role he wasn't suited for, nor wanted.

Amazingly both he and Cullimore had fairly good numbers after Chicago. Most definitely because OTHER teams played them in their proper role.

Neither were #1 pairing D men in the New NHL. More Chicagos fault than theirs. Aucoin is an outstanding individual.

Very similar to Marty Lapointe.

Marty was a guy that never got the credit he was due. He's another one of those ex-players if you can get to talk hockey with you, will just blow you away with his knowledge.

Yea I still talk with him from time to time. As Aucoin. Both very nice people.

i know alot of people never liked him, but Barnaby was the same way.

Strange but I never had much interaction with him so couldn't say one way or the other. I'd believe it though as there aren't many NHL players I've ever chatted with that weren't pretty down to earth and cool.

Honestly I don't think the new players care much. They are here to do the job. Not the same as the older guys IMO. The ones that weren't "super stars".
