Saad > Stalhorrible

Both were pretty stellar tonight.

That line was +6, had 6pts and was the entire offense.

Mean while Ovechkin had 1pt and was -2, on ice for all three goals against.

Richmond had his ass handed to him by Mayers. Dumb move Danny. All because Saad checked the Great Ovechkin. Can't hit him now or you get someone comign after you? Specially Danny. My 16 year old could kick his ass.

Hawks are going to be fun to watch.

Saad is going to make it VERY hard for them to send him back to Jr's apparently. Althugh like PMX and Whaler said on Twitter it's going to be hard for Saad to get top 6 minutes here, which he'll need to develope.

Just not the same not being in the buidling for a game.

Agree that Saad might have a hard time cracking top six this season. But man does he ever look ready at this point. Perhaps he can learn to be a 50+% f/o guy.

Speaking of ready, Olsen is showing it IMO.

Ron, I do not think anyone was in your seats.

Stu, that's not even the fucking point. Saad projects to be a skilled 1st or 2nd liner. A year ago he was Top 10 Draft chatter material. Stalberg for the Hawks is a 4th maybe sometimes plug for the 3rd---higher glimpses if they're beset with Forward injuries. I would want to fucking bitchslap someone in the Hawks organization if they burn the 1st year off of Saad's ELC so that he can be a fucking replacement for Stalberg who is slated for the FOURTH LINE. If they're thinking in terms of Saad playing on at least the 2nd with Hossa then that at least makes more sense. Saad's development time would be wasted on the 4th line here IMO. Good grief, if the overwhelming opinion of Stalberg is that he's just 4th line material than WTF is the problem exactly? Barring injury he's likely gonna get say 25 pts. for the season and pretty much costs a pittance---if 4th liners had marvelously consistent touch and finish and scored 30 - 50 pts. with the mins they get they wouldn't be fucking 4th liners. That's the point.

Yea my buddy was in them with his three boys. He got 10 games from me for the year, tonight all four. Most others just my two. I started ST's with him in 98. He left the team mad at the old man in 02-03, I kept going moving around till I got there in the 5th row.

Good guy. Glad his kids got to see a good game.

Solid Post BJ. Unless Saad just lights it up he goes back. Now they could give him his 9 games or a couple before sending him back.

he's making a great case, and it's a great problem to have. Might be the pick of the draft.

Perhaps they moved closer to the ice since your section was a bit barren. In any case, they got to a decent game. I am sure the kids enjoyed themselves as well.

I'll happily eat my crow if that Saad kid gets to the big club past the 10 game limit. I didn't think he was that impressive in Prospects Camp, and now he's the talk of the town??? Where the hell did this come from? LOL

Eh he missed the first 10 minutes of the 1st because of said kids and getting them ready, then left his wallet at home and had no money for parking.

Caps radio announcers are a fucking riot. They acted like the full team just beat them. When they scored, you'd think they won the Cup. Holy Homers!

9 games. He was still coming off the groin in prospect camp.

Like Book said he was a projected top 10 pick. The injury and lack of production-development had him fall to 47. This could be one of the best Hawk drafts in a long time.

Mcneil will be a 2nd line Center/NHL. Saad looks very good and Didomenico also looked very good or with good potential.

He looked solid on many levels for his NHL experience (or lack there of). Positioning was one that really stood out to me tonight. I also loved that he did not take the bait and that Mayers stepped in.

Yes it is, but I've always liked preseason. You get to see the kids like Saad, Smith, Oslen.....

Just don't like paying full price to do so.

Saad > Stalhorrible

I hate to admit this, but if Saad and Toews can make Stalberg look good, then I am very sure a lot of us would enjoy seeing him earn his money's worth for a change.

**** Hawks Prospect Camp. Saad looked very good at the Rookie Tournament in Oshawa and has continued that through TC and on to the pre-season games. That's where the hell that came from. I am not advocating one way or the other if the Hawks should give him his 9 or less games or send him back down to the minors from the jump. But there is no denying the kid has looked good when it's come to actual competition the past month.

Man your feisty tonight! YOU GO!

Can't send him to the minors. It's either here, or back to Jr's. Which is where the 9 games or less come in. Still think I'd keep Stalberg first. Experience, and he's due for a better year. He has the tools, needed the finish last year.

Now if the Hawks could find a team with a 2nd line Center, and Stalberg was part of the deal with another "rockford" depth player, Saad could end up with top 6 minutes.

Either way in two weeks this team is already going to be fun to watch and scary good.

Saad looks ready now. I don't see how he doesn't get his 9 games. I love how deep the prospect depth is. I'd hate to be Stan making these decisions about who makes the team. Some moves coming? NHL players for picks/prospects to make room?

Has Danny Richmond ever won an NHL fight? I respect him for playing the game he loves and having grit and heart, but man being an NHL punching bag for a living must suck.

Saad with 3 points tonight? That Saad-Toews-Stalberg line looked good.

Liked Olsen's physical play too
