No kidding, something to get their heads back in the game would have been nice. Timeout would have been a good idea, but we can't collapse like that when we lose the lead. First home game loss these playoffs which is nice, and some of our guys looked great tonight. I think Bollig is a healthy scratch when Shaw comes back on Friday, and I give Crow a pass on this game, he's certainly earned one. I think I would like to see Sharp scratched for Shaw's return, there has to be some way to snap him out of his EPIC funk.

Nah, come on, you don't bench a player like Sharp over a guy like Bollig in the Western Conference Finals. And Sharp isn't going to snap out of anything playing with Regin and Versteeg on his line. It'd be nice to see him center the second line but that'll never happen either. Hopefully Shaw can come back in Game 3 and that gives some sort of steadying effect throughout all the lines.

Sharp has also been given time on the top PP every penalty and has looked lost out there.

Also, that three minutes by Bollig was an epic fucking letdown for the team. First he is offsides ruining what would have been a good scoring chance. Then he takes a fucking awful, unnecessary, selfish penalty. THEN, he's right back out on the ice after LA scores... I mean, what kind of message is that sending the team?

To be fair, thought the Bollig-Kruger-Smith line was the only one that really generated some zone time consistently. But I am not really sober. When I saw Roszy on the ice just before the fifth goal I knew the Kings would score. Wasn't impressed by him at all. Bench for Brookbank.

As much as I would like to go on a rant this was the first home game we have lost in these playoffs. Horrible period completely cost us the game.

The Bollig interference call was a complete joke and completely swayed the game, the TMM was bad too and sealed the deal. Still, we didn't kill those penalties.

I however would like to see a more even game called, the interference call on Hammer was absolutely mindblowing in the 1st period.

Those were evening up calls, and if the 'Hawks capitalized on 1 or more of their benefit calls early in the game these last two would not have mattered.

The sucky part is the 'Hawks owned the Kings for the first 40 min and Q decided to go with the Oscar and tinkered with lines for the beginning of the 3rd....

Oh well. On to game 3. Still think the 'Hawks can take this series.

I think when Shaw comes back on Friday we get the energy boost we've been missing for the last couple of weeks.

Thing with him is that "doing well" by his standards means not really making any difference, positively or negatively. Doing things any AHL player can do. But when he starts fucking up even in his limited amount of time with stupid shit like that, get him the **** off the ice for good already.

I guess you missed his assist.

Edit: No, I'm not defending him about the rest of the game.

Sorry I'm late

I cannot believe I missed where it said lose game 2 = lose the series. ****! I thought you had to win 4!!

Good thing I took the kings. Maybe the hawks can get Trotz. 16-3 over their last 19 home playoff games...7-1 this year is embarrassing

Sharp absolutely has to be off of the PP. He is just abysmal right now. Handzus absolutely has to be off of Kane's line. He's...well....completely useless.

Toews got dominated by Stoll and Kopitar today in the circles. Not sure what his problem was.

Why Handzus continues to take faceoffs at all, I don't know. The Hawks lose every faceoff to start the PK. It's amazing that it took until tonight for that to finally catch up with them.

How you don't bench Bollig after that stupid interference penalty I don't know. There is absolutely nothing to be accomplished by stepping into a guy along the boards 5 seconds after the puck is gone.

Is there a single thing that Versteeg does well at this point? Aside from turning over the puck constantly? He is pretty much the worst puck possession forward the Hawks have.

Does anyone understand why, after a great 40 minutes, the lines were switched to start the 3rd period? I mean, what sense does that make?

Bollig was bad, but I thought the interference call was ticky tack. Not as shitty as the TMM penalty.

Agree on Sharp. Not sure where he's been.

Versteeg wasn't awful last night (yes- he blew a tire with no one around), and he & Seabs nearly capitalized on the 2 on 1 break. Seabs needed to elevate the puck and it would've been a nail in the coffin.

The other thing is they needed to capitalize on the brief 5 on 3 and didn't. Quick was pedestrian in the first, then settled in and played great in the 2nd and 3rd.

Bad team game, and the Kings first goal looked like it deflated the Hawks after 38 minutes of brilliant shut down play.

I thought 2 and 7 were not too great last night. Keith had a gross turnover that could've resulted in a goal, but I thought the whole team was lazy.

Oh well. Split in LA and try to win it in 6.

PS, Gaborik sucks.
