Or a Jonathan Toews.... and play with the concussion.

Sweet jesus... didn't this already get settled that he didn't have a concussion? He had a neck injury that produced concussion like symptoms and they held him out as a precaution and then he went to some specialist that fixed his neck...

I could see Backes returning for a game 6 or 7. And I am solely going off of what we saw Seabrook do in 2011 against the Canucks. Torres knocked him out badly in game 3 then he returned a week later for game 6 and 7.

And I know the hit on Backes was bad, but I am not sure if you could say it was more violent:

Well Backes wasn't on the ice for the morning skate, pretty telling that he won't play. He would at least have to test himself before potentially costing them a roster spot.

8:30 start. Thinking of calling off work already. This now has all the makings of a quadruple overtime game.

So you're in bed by midnight max...i still don't see the problem unless your shift starts at about 5:00am or so.

It's NHL playoffs and it's our 'hawks we're talking about. I'd call in with the Hesphaestan Rectal Mites if I had to.

Morrow is out for the rest of the series, and I'm guessing we won't see Backes tonight. I agree with what's being said, he would have probably skated with the team today if he was ok.

I'm dragging ass... and unlike OT hockey, OT NBA is the worst. Both teams trying to take as much time as possible while trying not to lose. It's horrible... a 5 minute OT takes like 30 minutes because of fouls and timeouts and bullshit. They should play make it take it or something. Or Sudden Death with a chance to match. Turn the clock off. It's horrible. Much like the last 2 minutes of any close game. Foul... foul... timeout... commercial, foul timeout commercial. commercial, review, replay foul commericial review. shotclock revieownwnlkansdfl;kans

Yea, the NBA needs to have a strict rule of no commercial breaks below the 2 minute mark, barring an extreme circumstance.

Full timeouts are generally useless near the end of the game with commercial breaks. I'd have no problem with teams taking a :30 timeout after a quick basket....if the refs were able to enforce it and only have a 30 second break in the game.

Hockey does a great job of no commercials until the 13 minute mark in the period and really enhances watching the game in my opinion.

I'll take an 8:30 start time here over a 9:30 one from out in the West Coast ANY day of the week.
