That's true, but why would they send him down then?

Gordon Beckham's bat isn't MLB quality. Fucking awful hitter.

You know who's bat is even worse? Orlando Hudson.

Also, there are worse hitters in MLB. So saying it isn't MLB quality is not really a solid argument.

Ehh. Once a week or every other week is fine. Rest might do Beckham well. But it's not like Hudson is going to be any better than Beckham. It's just a case of fans wanting anything but what they have.

If Beckham was back in the two hole I see no reason he wouldn;lt be in the 260-270 range. He was headed there before we got Youkie.

That sounds very optimistic, considering his first year, when everyone labeled him a future all-star, was his best hitting year.... at .270. Since then, it's been .252, .230 and more of the same at .230 this year.

I'm not sure why people are so 'up' on Beckham's offense... boggles the mind!

My memory could be off something bad, but I could have sworn when we got Beckham out of the two hole he was a 250+ hitter at the time raising something like 70 poins the prev 6 weeks. Could be wrong though

Apr 26 he was at .170. Jun 24 he was at .249 Raised it nearly 80 points in two months. Could he have squeezed out .21 more? I think so. His OPS went up like .250 points during that span to boot

Oh, you could be right about that, I was just going off year-by-year production.

Oh I totally agree with you. And I admit I am reaching for it. I stated it elsewhere I would think Robin would know what it means losing the two hole. TO this day I believe Robin would be close to a career .300 hitter if he was always in the two hole.

Beckham would've hit .270 in the 2 hole because pitchers had to be careful with Dunn up next. And Beckham had more confidence. In the 9 hole there's no confidence, no drive, and he doesn't see the same type of pitches.

Dead on with that as well. What makes this lineup frustrating is Dunn. I like him more as a 6/7 then a 3. I don't care what he's hitting power wise, he should have more then basically a 2.3 rbi per homer rate with the lineup that the Sox have.
