And the team's done so well during that time period. It's not like the Sox could have used that production during the first two months when we still thought they might be a contender.

Ya hopefully Dunn keeps hitting so we could unload him for some good prospects although I wouldn't mind keepin him as our HR hitter.

Right, but great for the off-season if he keeps it up.

If only Sox "management" would actually pick up a portion of the salary so they could at least get a more than decent prospect.

I'm dying to know what the deal at the deadline was that fell through. I'm guessing we wouldn't eat salary so the team probably didn't want to give up their best or top prospects. Hopefully we're active this month in the waiver wire trying to move guys still and set up our plan for free agency with a few targets. I wouldn't mind getting a guy like Garza though we won't give him a Sanchez type deal which he'll probably command. Would be nice to have him behind Sale, then have Santiago, Quintana and Rienzo for our starting 5. Maybe see if we could move Danks to the pen if he can't produce although he did well against the Tigers.

Can't put Danks in the pen. Danks isn't doing too horrible, 3.95 xFIP / 1.15 WHIP.

His "traditional" numbers should increase.

He is pitching ok and good when his changeup isn't up and over the plate. Hopefully he continues to do well and we put him on waivers and someone claims him. The main thing is he's healthy. Next year he should, "in theory", be a lot better and consistent. He has to be with his contract.

I thought this guy was gonna be a good picup when we got him. How long we got him for? If he heats up, can we trade him like with waivers or something?

He is heating up
Next year is his last
No one wanted him prior to July 31 deadline
Maybe off season or next year trade deadline most likely

you have no clue who did or didnt want him. just because he wasnt moved or you didnt hear a rumor does NOT mean no one wanted him.

I don't KNOW, but the CLUES are there. Given the media of our day and such and the reports that come from taht it would be the most logical choice that no one wanted him. And you know that.

But in efforts to show Dews love, this just coming out from Buster's mind.

Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN 1h

It would make a ton of sense for the Rangers to think about a deal for Adam Dunn. Owed about $17 million through 2014. Big BB rate, power.
And the rationale for his thought.
Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN 9m

Production in 2013: Nelson Cruz 27 homers, .330 on-base percentage. Adam Dunn 26 homers, .331 on-base percentage.
