The sad part is Albert wants to stay in St. Louis. If they lose him, you can blame the Cards FO. Unlike the Lebron situation, he really didn't want to go back to Cleveland and didn't work to stay there.

He wants to stay in STL for Baseball's biggest contract, despite his word that he wants to be a Cardinal for life. Was in the link you posted earlier.

St. Louis reportedly won't offer him the biggest contract. They most likely won't offer him 25-30M a year and that's why their not close to a contract.

St. Louis Dispatch; Cardinals "nowhere close" to reaching agreement.

Still about 2 weeks to work out contract.

MLBTR said they won't be interested with Texeira at 1st. They won't just get rid of Jeter or make A-Rod a SS either.

Insert Jeter to the OF theory that Cashman talked about.

Link or irrelevant. LOL, that would be a disaster.

Still doesn't mean that the Cubs wouldn't get him.

I still can't see the Yanks signing Albert, even with moving Jeter to the OF. Texieria is a good 1B and so is Albert. Moving one of them to 3B will be a disaster and Texieria or Albert will not be a DH. No way in hell.

That would mean A-Roid will move back to his natural position SS.

Ya, unless they trade Tex, it wouldn't even be a smart move.

Trading Tex. OK... That will happen in NO way because of 2 reasons. Trading him and signing Albert does not really help the team and his contract is a joke and UNTRADEABLE.

They can't really trade Tex, no one is that stupid, I wouldn't think. However, what they could do, instead of moving DJ to the OF is move him to 2B and trade Cano. It wouldn't be the smartest thing, IMO, as i'd take Cano over DJ, but they could get a shitload of a return on Cano.

Still would make a defensive disaster at 3B, SS, and 2B.

They would get a ton for Cano but I doubt they will get enough for his production. Also he's way younger than Jeter and when Jeter retires, they will/could be screwed. So..I don't see that and it would be dumb by Cashman. Also, how does that help a Albert signing?

Rod to Short
Jete to 2B
