I want to see if they are doing odds for the cards signing him in vegas.

either way, with all this back and forth media attention of the talks happening, to now being far apart, to hearing about a 10 year deal at 300 million....after the smoke clears i still say he stays with the cards.

Ya, he'll probably sign with the cards but I doubt it will be 300 mill.

If he is stuck on $300 million he wont be a Cardinal next year. I think they let him walk if thats the price.

Yep. I don't see his agent lowering that offer. Pujols wants to payed. He may want to be a Cardinal, but he still wants his money, and if he isn't worth that money to St. Louis, then he will leave instead of lowering the offer. Then the Cubs sign him.

Because you know them both personally.

How the media portrays athletes is not always how they really are.

From everything I have ever read or heard about him he is a family guy. At most he can probably get 300 million on the open market. I'm pretty sure he has said that he will take a home town discount.

No he hasn't said that. He seems to want what he considered appropriate payment after taking less his whole career. The FoxSports article that waldo posted earlier in this thread hints at that.

If he was willing to lower the price why hasnt he signed? The answer to that is either he isnt willing to lower the price or the he and the Cards are faaar from a fair number.

I think he is saying I am worth 300 million, I'll settle for 280 to stay here and they are probably saying like 250ish. That's my guess and the numbers don't really mean anything, but the point I am making is that he is willing to go down slightly.

You really can't blame the guy on that. He has consistently been one of the top five first baseman in the league and just wants to be paid his dues.
