Yeah, that's exactly what I think. He is a good player and for what he's getting paid he's fantastic, but there are a couple guys who go around acting like he can do no wrong.

I go against the ones who stroke the **** of stalberg like he is a top 6 player on a cup contender. I am with the fans who think, like tblow, that he is worth his contract, nothing more, nothing less.

Of course if you look at the fact that this is Stalberg's 2nd full season in the NHL, and it is Versteeg's 4th full season - and take a look at Versteeg's 2nd full season of 2009-10 instead of 20 goals and 24 assists in 79 games ... things are a little closer.
Ok granted, both guys are basically the same age -the difference being that Stalberg went to college and Versteeg went through juniors. College is basically the difference between the full seasons played at this point.
At any rate- I'm happy enough with Stalberg, as I didn't expect anything out of him -and I completely disagree with your assessment that the guy is a 4th liner -he isn't -4th lines are for one way defence minded forwards -of which I doubt Stalberg should even try that (I guess arguably you could say I don't think the guy has that versatility... ).
I guess what I am saying -and forget the stat thing - is that I was expecting the guy to be worse than he's turned out.
But, you know the team is really too loose defensively speaking... that is the major problem (well that and injuries potentially). Too easy to score against, and giving up too many goals.

he isnt a top 3 not even a top 6, as you should know Q changes the lines all the time, just because stalberg plays on the top lines doesnt make him a top line forward. we will see where he is at come playoff time.

I mean right now he is definitely a top 6 forward on the Blackhawks and if he is a top 6 player on the Blackhawks, then you would have to consider him a top 6 player for the entire league. I can't think of 6 forwards on the Hawks who are playing better than him this year. I started this year by saying he is the perfect 13th forward for the Blackhawks because he accepts his role on any line...but right now he definitely is creating a lot of things with his speed on the top line. He has finally learned that he doesn't have to go 1million miles an hour 100% of the time and he is letting the game catch up to him and finding the soft spots.
Stalberg deserves to be praised because he is probably the most improved Blackhawks player this year, by far. He deserves to be where he is right now because he earned it and works his ass off every game. The guy isn't perfect, by no means...but he has earned his spot this year big time.

Which is hilarious because he ripped him apart earlier this year for not getting points. Kruger still isn't putting up points with Hossa on his side.
I think Kruger may top out at a 3rd line center...I don't think he has 2nd line material in him.
