Its too bad that Bolland is a 3rd line center and rightyfully so since he is great in his role, but he is 4 points (assists) away from stalber fo the "top 6" and bolland is much better overall player than stalberg. So no, I disagree that stalberg is a top 6 player on this team. Shaw will soon bump him farther down the depth chart for the LW position if we dont acquire an actual top 6 player at the deadline.

Even so...how is Stalberg still not top 6?

Toews, Hossa, Kane, Sharp, Stalberg, Bolland. Good luck making a case for anyone else at this point. So yes, Stalberg is a top 6 on the Hawks this year.

as of right now he is borderline due to the simple fact we arent deep at all after the first 5. I will tell you this....just like Huet, If we do not acquire a top 6 forward at the deadline shaw will be in the top 6 come playoff time. wanna do some sort of sig bet that stalberg gets bumped down by either a new player or shaw? please take me up on this. pleeaaase.

A few things...

What do you even consider top 6? I don't think Shaw will be a top 6 forward on this team by the end of the year but he may be playing on the top 2 lines (just as he is now and Carcillo did before). Funny that you tell everyone not to drink the kool-aid yet you are all over Shaw's nuts after 10 games in the NHL. Have you even seen him play in 15 games at the professional level? I know you didn't watch him in juniors.

Dews is hatin on Stalberg while trying to give Shaw a handjob in the corner #Shawfacts

This is the difference between you and me...I root for all the players on the Blackhawks and I root for them to prove me wrong if I don't think highly of their skillset, etc. You root for a player like Stalberg to fail just so you can say "told you so" to everyone. I hope that Ben Smith plays his best game when he is with the Hawks. I hope Hayes proves me wrong come playoff time that his speed and sturdiness on his feet will not be an issue.

On top of all that, I hope that Stalberg is bumped out of the top 6 by the playoffs. I think a third line of Stalberg/Bolland/Frolik(or someone else?) would be a damn solid 3rd line. One that would be tough to play against come playoffs and one that would add some timely pop. I hope the Blackhawks do acquire a top 6 forward...because that likely means they are better!

See, I root for the Blackhawks...not against them.

I mean right now he is definitely a top 6 forward on the Blackhawks and if he is a top 6 player on the Blackhawks, then you would have to consider him a top 6 player for the entire league. I can't think of 6 forwards on the Hawks who are playing better than him this year. I started this year by saying he is the perfect 13th forward for the Blackhawks because he accepts his role on any line...but right now he definitely is creating a lot of things with his speed on the top line. He has finally learned that he doesn't have to go 1million miles an hour 100% of the time and he is letting the game catch up to him and finding the soft spots.

Stalberg deserves to be praised because he is probably the most improved Blackhawks player this year, by far. He deserves to be where he is right now because he earned it and works his ass off every game. The guy isn't perfect, by no means...but he has earned his spot this year big time.

Definitely. I had some bad opinions about him before the season started because he hadn't done a lot of good things and wasn't using his talents well. He is much better this year and is probably the best fit with Kane and Toews.

Which is hilarious because he ripped him apart earlier this year for not getting points. Kruger still isn't putting up points with Hossa on his side.

I think Kruger may top out at a 3rd line center...I don't think he has 2nd line material in him.

I agree. I never once thought Kruger would be a good 2nd line center. Even during that patch where he was good, I just doubted him for some reason.

Like I've said a lot before, I really like Pirri in between Hossa and Sharp.

wrong. but you can continue to think that if you prefer. Im ok with that.

I have actually gotten to watch a lot of shaw, and IMO he has more tools than stalberg has as of right now. Can stalberg acquire more tools? dunno. But from watching Shaw a 20 year old, he looks better than stalberg hands down. Some of his OHL film looks pretty damn solid for a kid. Of course its the OHL but it is looking like it might translate into the NHL, which in turn would make him an overall better player than stalberg.

again, you can think what you want, i just have my opinions on players....which doesnt mean im rooting against them.

where is the video game comment or the ccs site quiting comment? im sure thats coming for the 100th time.

when we talked about stalberg last year and we talked about how well he did in college, you said that it didnt matter, but shaw looks good in the OHL, and now we can use stuff from the past to evaluate players?

Shaw looks good, but as you and Joe like to say when stalberg goes through a good stretch, "Small sample size"

did I not say "of course it is the OHL" Im just curious...im pretty sure I down played it. Interpret that how you want, not my problem. With that said, it doesnt even matter....you can see that he has more tools in just the 10 games in the NHL, and the kid is 20. jesus christ

Sample Size.

Predicting your response:

that is what everyone was stating about stalberg last year when he was bad, was sample size. So wait, I cant do that? Im not CO,joe or Waldo buddy. keep trying though.

Can I ask one thing?

If people started changing their opinion of stalberg, would you follow the sheep? Im pretty sure you would. Now go back to the bar and post stuff about joecawks and stalgod...things you wore out.

I'm sorry...but I'm calling complete BS on you watching Shaw in the OHL. If you have seen clips, it was highlight clips and even O'Donnell probably has some pretty sweet highlight clips. There is no way you can tell me that you have watched Shaw in the OHL, a player who wasn't touted in any way and was passed over in the draft completely twice. There certainly wasn't an iso-cam on Shaw.

Apparently I don't have to say any comments...you do the work for me.

haha bravo sir, you definitely bring some quality posts to the table. I get the feeling like my comments, and how I approach 99% of the people here that aren't douches, are well respected.

This forum hasn't missed your posts one bit, I've actually enjoyed some quality hockey conversation here over the last month.

I call BS on your OHL claim and I'm standing behind that. Not a chance.

"kid"? Says the adult who isn't very good at acting his age.

I didn't avoid the post one bit. Not one bit.

I'm a fan of Shaw...but you can't drink the kool-aid if you are hypocritical in doing so.

I'll get back to talking hockey to the people who do it in a respectful manner, even when they disagree.

how so? The kid is 20 years old and is pretty damn good at holding his own in the NHL. Am I going to make a thread about how I love him, and post whore about the awesome play of shaw? of course not. I just think he will THIS year bump stalberg on the depth chart. My thoughts on shaw are NOT the same as some here who :fap: to the thought of stalberg. but keep going....

sweet pea why are you getting so sensitive?
