Who said Reggie's and hipsters with PBR while DFH 60 on tap?

I kind of remember drinking lots of those 60s there. I may or may not have been kicked out, but had a swollen and cut up right hand when I came somewhat around.

Dogfishhead 60 IPA I believe. The 60 pertains to IBU (international bitterness unit, a measure of hops bitterness content) making it a highly hopped india pale ale.

I'm drinking Chimay Tripel (white label) out of proper Chimay glass I got in some gift box type thing last winter.

Pretty sure I had this at Harry Carey's a few weeks ago - the waiter had a super thick accent and I couldn't understand what he was saying but I think it was this beer. Good stuff.

That was me... while I love the place, just can't understand why one would opt for a PBR when they hav emultiple great beers on tap. And a few 60's will definitely lead to a "fuzzy" night. The 120 is nice when you can find it, but I find most places in the Chicago-land area that have DFH on tap, go with the 60 (come to think of it, I don't even know if 120 is in "tap" format).

Anyone try the new "Drink by DATE" beers by (I think) Lagunitas?

I got a taste for a chocolate bock or a coffee flavored beer. Any recommendations? I am only familiar with the Sam Adams ones but they are winter seasonals.

Two Brothers has a really decent one called, "Red Eye" - I found it at Binny's, but you may not necessarily be in the geographic range for that.

I've really been enjoying Arcadia's Jaw Jacker - it's a Fall "pumpkin" beer... it's been weird because the first one was, "meh" but upon successive drinks, it has gotten waaaaay better.

Arcadia also has a fantastic one called, Cereal Killer.

Spent my vacation doing a mini-brewery tour in Wisconsin.

Hit up Sprecher... if you're in the Milwaukee area, take the tour - for like $10, you get a tour, a collectible glass and I think 5 decent samples of their beer and unlimited samples of all their soda. Very impressed with the operation and more importantly the beer. Their Octoberfest was good, but the real find is the Piper's Scotch Ale which is unlike any other scotch ale I've ever had... smooth and only about 8%. Also discovered Sprecher has an additional line called, "Chameleon" where they brew outside of their comfort zone. Not all were hits, but the Hops on Top (I think that was the name) was really good.

We also went to a brew-pub in the Madison-area called, "Vintage Brewing Co." - wasn't a fan of any of their beers, but the food was fantastic. I've run into a few of these kinds of places that try really hard to brew great beers but just fail when it comes to their food. With that said, they did have some interesting options, like a dark IPA that was molasses. I could see how some people would really enjoy it, I just felt it had too many things going on and fighting for dominance on my tongue. Go for the beer, stay for the food.

We had also planned to hit up New Glarus, but alas - it wasn't so. The GPS couldn't find it (or rather kept telling us it wasn't where it said it was), so we went without. I'll probably have to stop up in Kenosha at some point to pick up some as don't think they don't sell across state lines.

Bummer about New Glarus, they make some very good beers. Unfortunately they cannot sell them outside Wisconsin.

Fall means Octoberfest beers for me, some of my favorites. Tried a Sierra Nevada Tumbler last night at dinner that was really good. It's an ale that is probably one of the better fall beers I've had.

Yeah, I really like New Glarus, the Spotted Cow and Fat Squirrel are terrific... we just have another excuse to head up there.

Tried Finch Brewery's (another Chicago brewery) Fascist Pig... which was fantastic. Really good stuff.

I enjoyed a New Glarus Dancing Man last evening. Great wheat beer.

They at one time were distributing in IL but left because of the politics of dealing with the beer distributors in IL. The final straw was having to pay a large cash sum to have one of their beers on tap at a downtown location.

Glad you were able to do Sprecher, I knew you would like it. If you ever get the urge to go up there again, take the special tour. It's the same tour but at the end they put you in a different room and they pair like 8 -10 beers with 8-10 of their cheeses. It's awesome you get a lot of different beers and a couple of soda's. Plus some seriously good cheese. I think the tour was only like 15$ which I believe is 5 bucks more, it takes more like an hour though. So you need some time. You also get 10% off in the shop for taking that one. Don't you love how most of the beers there are in 16 oz bottles. The bourbon and scotch ales were also my favorite.
