Patsios, The best breakfast place, or was, in Orlando at 3-4 in the morning. It was on Semoran and Howell Branch in Butler Plaza. There used to be a really nice older lady that worked there named Stella. She went through hell with all the drunks but she handled it well and everyone loved her.

I remember that place. My parents used to live not far from there. Wow...

We can be down on Miller and we have reason to be. But if we traded a fifth round pick and got a guy with his skills we’d be thrilled

"We" would? Maybe you would....

I can understand that concern, however, like you stated there is some film of him moving through his progressions well, so there is proof he is capable of doing it, and doing it well.

Then add in all the other positive traits about his game, and that he competed at the highest level, and that he has played enough games to say the film is a good representation of who he is.

I hate comparisons, but he looks and feels like Deshawn Watson to me.....

I would be willing to sell the Farm for Deshawn Watson, so taking a shot at a young version of him is a no Brainer....

Yeah i agree and said i have seen tape of him going through his progressions, i've just seen more tape of him locking in on his first target and not going away from it and end up either running or throwing an incompletion or throwing it away.

I like Fields and would be very happy if we got him but there are concerns, i also realize that the smart ones will know how to work on those things at the NFL level and get better like J.Allen and many others have. Hopefully we'd have the right staff to work with him and help him get better at those things cause Nagy.......................................

*Trade: The Chicago Bears trade 20, 52, 1[2022] and 1[2023] to the Atlanta Falcons for 1[4] and a 5th round pick.

1[1] Jacksonville Jaguars: QB Trevor Lawrence [Clemson]
1[2] NY Jets: QB Zach Wilson [BYU]
1[3] San Francisco 49ers [Mia]: QB Mac Jones [Alabama]

1[4] QB Justin Fields [Ohio St] 6'3" 230lbs.

Justin Fields is a super exciting prospect. He combines incredible athletic tools, really good accuracy, and a ton of big game and big moment experience. He is as physically gifted a QB in this class and gives the Bears a QB prospect with a sky high ceiling and that could be an elite player at the position. The Bears trade a boatload to get him, a fortune, but really what option do they have? Try and find gold with a much lesser prospect in round 2 or 3? Continue to roll out mediocre QBs with no upside? Continue to have everything in place except a QB that can execute at a high level? The Bears are desperate for a QB and if Fields misses we are heading to a nuclear rebuild anyway.

I want to see a "if Fields goes to San Fran" Mock. Still find it hard to believe Jones goes #3

The betting odds now reflect it too. I got locked in with Fields at +250 underdog when all of this Mac jones media hype was happening. Here we are a week before the draft and fields is the favorite on most sites or a dead +100 spit with jones to go #3 overall.

That's a draft day shocker for sure. 3 1sts and a 2nd to move up 16 spots. That's a kings ransom. I could stomach it without the 2013 1st.

I am perfectly fine giving up our 2013 1st round draft pick to move up that far....

Why would anyone trade a 5th for AntMill?

I'm not really on board the BIG TRADE myself but if they do it Fields is the guy to do it for. I'd hate it for Lance.

Agree about Miller, Pace getting a 5 for him would be pulling a rabbit out of a hat, and in this case, one of those prehistoric 4 foot high carnivorous rabbits coming out of a propeller beanie.

I think what the Bears are doing, and need to do, is to figure out a list of their picks, and decide, we will trade away this pick, this pick and this pick to get Fields, these picks to get Lance, and these picks to get McCorkle Jones. Then, as a qb falls, they call whoever is on the clock with their offer, or a bit less (for negotiating room). If they can't pull it off, fine, as long as they don't sell the farm for one guy who has a fairly significant chance of never making a pro bowl, regardless of who that guy is. (Yes, there's a nonzero chance that Lawrence won't make a pro-bowl. Probably well less than 50%, but still non-zero.)

I have felt the same way for a long time. I also felt the same way with Tua, i just don't get the hype because the kid plays with an all star team in college. Personally I think its a dumb move for any team that takes Mac Jones not only in the top 10 but the first round, but that's just my opinion.

HOWEVER, I can see why SanFran would take him at 3. If they are convinced he is the 1 QB that could come in and play right away, then that solves their Jimmy G problem. Fields/Lawrence are more than likely going to sit for a year no matter who takes them, but San Fran is in win now mode because for all the love that Shanahan gets, the guy only has 1 winning season in 4 years (hell, he only has 1 more win than Nagy and Nagy has been coaching 1 less season). So, if Shanahan is in win this year mode, Jones makes some sense as compared to Fields/Lance.

For Fields I'm all in. Worry about the cost later. 10+ year QB. Sure looks like a larger version of Watson. He is a bad ass. After the Clemson game I was sold.

Absolutely. If you don't have a QB, you're essentially going into the season looking for a participation trophy. I even wouldn't hate a trade up in the 10-15 range for Lance. Wouldn't be a killer in terms of compensation, and would be worth it for his upside.

Also, Atlanta has no backup QB on the roster. Maybe eat some of Foles's salary and send him packing to them?

If I'm San Fran I take Pitts or Chase and replace Kittle long term.

Smart move trading all those assets to move up and pick a wr or te

Signed

R Pace
Depends on your window and what you need.

Could be next Julio Jones in Pitts, or thinking they had to jump Bengals for Chase.

Shanahan loves physical WRs but they can't stay healthy the way he uses them. He could view Pitts as the ultimate weapon(and be frustrated by limitations of his late first WR investments).

They have to be thinking longterm with incumbent Garrappolo, if I bet on it I would lean Fields.

Adding another ball carrier weapon at QB would take his offense from nightmare to "fuck this."

They need to Pace themselves, they played so physical for 4 quarters for 30 months that their whole team got hurt.

Pitts will be the best Non-Qb to come out of this draft. In my pipe dream I would love to see him fall to Detroit, TJ and Pitts would be a matchup nightmare for DC's. Just put two burners at wideout, let Pitts and TJ wreak havoc on the middle of the field.

I've actually thought about this as a possibility but it really doesn't make much more sense the more you think about it. Its about the value they potentially save of having an elite quarterback on a rookie deal. The only position where that equation works out to the same cap savings as three productive first round picks (plus a third) is at quarterback. Even an elite left tackle or edge rusher would need to be an unprecedented force to make up that kind of money.

Aslo Garoppolo sucks.

Maybe it's a Russell Wilson trade maneuver, or Watson? Like they did this to have the young QB to ply away a veteran.

Their roster just seems too mature and now or never for a rookie QB.
