The Bulls Chances of Getting the Fifth Seed

The only way DT was involved was in delivering the news to Savvy.

You can bank on that.

And he almost refused. DT was the only one to stick up for himself where the Clown is concerned. I was told there was a real shouting match involved. Just look at the emotion on Tallons face when he did it. Whether it was the right thing or not. I'm not so convinced Savard doesn't do just as wel with THAT team as Q did.

Hell Q had to be TOLD to switch things up after game #4 of the finals. Remember Toews was put with Hossa and Sharp with Kane. Q doesn't take advise too well from what I've heard.

IF this team, I mean the "CORE" is one and done, and does not win another Cup (not just this year but before Kane-Toews fly the coup), it's complete fail on everyone involved POST Bill Wirtz. Just as much as Bill Wirtz was at fault for previous issues. No question.

So let me get this straight, Q is friends with Bergevin who is friends with Scotty, who is friends with McD, who hates Stan, and Stan hates Q, and the players hate Q but Q hates the players too.

Now I remember why I hate soap operas.

You lost your way around Scotty is friends with McD.

On a related note, if you don't see that professional hockey is one giant old boys club, you are out to lunch sir.

Hard to keep up with all the drama these days. I'll have to start writing this down until the Hawks come out with their own reality TV show!

Some teams PR machines actually invite this kind of press. McDick is 'too proud'. That's why he tailers and manufactures all the press in Chicago.

on the theme of this thread someone asked me this morning why the blues and wings have 12 more points that the hawks, and honestly it has Zero to do with the PP going south. It has to do with the fact the Wings have given up 151 goals against and the Hawks 198 goals against.

If you can't keep the puck out of your net, shut out an occassional opponent, or win those close games by keeping the puck out of the net, you aren't going very far even if you DO make the playoffs.

Goals Against--

Wings 151

Blues a staggaring 130

Hawks, 198.

Thats fucking rediculous and either team defense, regular D and or goal tending.

Absolutely RK. It's been a constant problem all year, when everything else went south (PP, PK, scoring drought) that's when we started losing every game. IMO that has been the core of the problem though, and really has been neglected all year. Forget the 2nd line C, top four defenseman, #1 goalie, for a second, we just need to play better hockey and it starts in our own end.

He's a sharp cookie and I could see him replacing Kitchen in the off season as the coaching change.

I've had the opportunity to chat/work with him a few times several years ago - he does a lot with USA hockey

Can't believe I missed this post earlier, but I completely agree. I think that would be the best route to take instead of this whole "fire the entire coaching staff" mentality.

That mentality stretches across all Chicago sports, ironically. Must be something in the water over here!

While true goals like crawford gave up during the Toronto game for example, to start the game, contribute as well. So that said the goalies must too play better. YOu can't start the game by giving that goal up.

But team defense is a far more glaring problem. And games like Detroit, and St. Louis were very well played. They just aren't consistant.

Wasn't making any excuses for Crawford, from top to bottom the GA stat is a product of everyone.

Well, if anything, The PP should no longer be completely predictable. Then again, I've thought that before.

Power Plays should be set up simply which is something the Hawks can't do... they'd rather have Power Playbinskys and try to be better than they are.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Smith on the coaching staff sometime in the future. In what capacity remains to be seen.
