They have to pay them regardless, which is probably why no changes have been made. I'm betting Rocky has Stan's hands tied as far as firing them right now is concerned. Last thing he wants to do is eat another contract...

No coach or hockey god can make a pp work when you dont have a creative left winger and 4 left handed shots on your pp unit. Set up is always from the right side

Dont care about whos running it behind the bench its not going to work.

Isn't Mayers and Sharp on one unit....and Bolland and Seabrook on the other?

I don't care who's running it, but when the players on the ice can't complete simple passes...it's not going to work

Is it normal in your experience for NHL players to not be able to complete simple passes for an entire fucking season, going on two? Because that seems extremely abnormal to me. It stinks like a team that isn't practicing properly or practicing with focus and intensity. Guys don't just forget how to fucking pass at the NHL level without a lot of help in the matter. Especially guys with the talent that the players out on the PP have.... It's fucking mind boggling. It reeks of lack of preparation.....

Sharps not a creative lw hes a shoot first guy. Also been playing the point for the bulk of the year. Meyers is a joke on the pp. Not sure whats going on there with that mind set and if thats smiths idea...wow. Assuming its a center fill in for toews.

TCD, most teams work one side of the ice on the PP, with the ultimate goal being the big shots coming from the cross ice passes and traffic in front... That is nothing abnormal. The Hawks struggles aren't personnel related, as much as they are execution, setup, and decision making. They could definitely use a couple more right handed shots on the team, but they have more than enough creative players out there to get it done.... Their zone entry is also total horseshit. The only guy that actually uses speed to enter the zone on the PP is Leddy. Everyone else tries to walk it in.

Agreed. Many say it is "too late" to fire a coach this late in the season... I say it's never too late. If this is the best option moving forward, do it as soon as you possibly can. The Leafs had no problem firing Ron Wilson, not saying Q should go but if Kitchen is the problem remove him and replace him with Smith.

The Leafs and Hawks aren't in a comparable position, one is in the playoffs. the other isn't and has failed to perform for several seasons. While it's early, so far Carlyle hasn't been the rainmaker. I do hope Smith replaces Kitchen.
