Accidentally saved over my level 48 Redguard..... Pretty much went ape shit. Oh well, I started over with a Khajiit this time around. Decided to be a bit more stealthy. Concentrating on light armor, destruction magic and smithing. I love the way glass armor looks.

at what point do you get that key?

Towards the end of the string of quests. Don't wanna give away any spoilers if you're into the story. I believe it's the second to last quest in the Thieves guild chain.

It is. But I'm not gonna spoil anything. That key has helped me pick more locks and steal more treasure than I even need lol

Yeah I thought that sucked too. The only Daedric artifact that you can't keep (though I guess you could if you don't complete the Thieves Guild).

But if you train on those locked chests in the Thieves Guild enough you'll get a high enough lockpick skill that makes them unbreakable, making the Skeleton Key pointless.

I just bought the game today. Never played any of the Elder Scrolls before and I am hooked. I went with a nord to start off just because it seemed like it was the most balanced. Already hooked on this game though!

I always go with a Nord. And it fits because Skyrim is home of the Nords. Plus the frost resistance is really nice to have.

Yes. Once your Speech skill gets higher, prices will get better in shops, and your items will be worth more. At the beginning, just go into mines, caves, dungeons and pick up every item (weapons, armor, etc) from people that you kill and then sell it. That's a quick way to get money at the beginning.

Deleted all my different character save files and am starting over. I'll probably delete this one too once the 1.04 patch comes out. I have yet to really fall in love with one of my character builds. I'm gonna pick a race that I never use and see how it goes. Going with Argonian or Khajiit or Redguard.

I chose Argonian for this playthrough. They aren't good at Archery to start, but I used the Faendal companion exploit to boost that skill a bit so now he's much better. They're pretty darn fast, so that's a plus. And they're good at sneaking/thieving. Pleasantly surprised with them.

W/ my high elf I'm in the 70s for archery by just killing dragons and zombies in dungeons

This game is sweet. There are so many side missions that I am constantly doing something. I feel like I've barely touched the main mission line

That's the best part. It's not one of those games that you have to sit down for five hours just to accomplish something. You can throw it on for a half hour, do a few quests, some exploring and turn it off. The replay value is just ridiculous.
