So now I have to guess which restaurants you ate at and find menu's that predate internet??? How about you prove that wings weren't on the menu? That should be easy for you considering boomers never throw out menu's, so I imagine you have some random drawer in your house that has 20 year old menu's from places you won't ever go to.
So unless you can show us a menu where wings aren't on a soul food restaurant's menu, your OP is crap. What is more likely, an idiot made a claim that they cannot back up and is just leaning into the lie or a soul food restaurant not carrying a staple in soul food?

I said from the get go that you might find soul food restaurants that offer wings, but I hadn't seen them.
I stand by that..I hadn't seen any that offer them and that was 20 years ago..

True story - was back at my In Laws over the summer for a few days. They asked what we wanted to do for dinner and we agreed on take out. I started to scope out Yelp. My FIL disappears and returns a few minutes later with a MF'ing binder that is 3-4 inches thick chalked full of menus lmao. I about died

Yeah it always came off as more of a trashy Jersey Italian thing to me. Never heard actual Italians even use the word gravy...especially when making a sauce.
