Yeah it always came off as more of a trashy Jersey Italian thing to me. Never heard actual Italians even use the word gravy...especially when making a sauce.

Ive never even been to Jersey, my entire family lived in Chicago, My gram came from Naples, and everyone in my family called it gravy
