At this point, I don't think any of three fan bases can be upset with their team's management of they don't get Lester.

Had he gone to SF (which doesn't look likely), one couldn't blame him, or the Red Sox or Cubs for losing him. They can't offer the "defending champ" situation.

If he goes to Boston because he's going home and has friends in the clubhouse, and it isn't because of a difference in dollars, it's hard to fault Theo.

WHEN he chooses Chicago because of a new challenge, and considering money is similar, Sox fans could blame heir management for their mistake in the spring, more so than now. Hopefully that slap in the face works in our favor enough to get him here.

Time for Illini basketball. If he signs between now and 8:30, I'll read about it later.

im so certain its the cubs. if he wanted to go back to boston he would have done it by now or he is infact using teams as leverage to milk every penny he can from boston.

also this whole "zomfgz you canz be teh legendsz if you winz heresz" is so fucking meatballish. im sure he knows the history of wrigley and the losing.

I think it means the Giants. Their Asst GM was saying the other teams were pulling at his heart strings, so that MAY be an indication that their higher offer didn't do the trick.

It could have meant LA, but I never got the sense they were seriously in it. Then again, maybe he never really liked them, and they went 7 to offset lack of interest.

Just guessing.

I would not be surprised if he ends up getting 7 from Cubs or Red Sox since this fight seems to be going another round. But I didn't get the feeling these two offered 7 earlier.
