Good riddance.
Should've never brought him back to begin with.

That's actually not a bad deal....providing that the Hawks deem O'Reilly the real deal. I mean an aging Hall of Fame type player and a top 4 dman for a kid who has only had
one really good season. Okay, it was a breakout season but was the 3 previous seasons who he is or was it last year's version. I'm not sure I'd invest that much in finding out.

If you want to deal a d-man...deal Leddy.
Keith-Seabs
Hammer-Leddy
Rosival-Rundblad/Brookbank
Formidable 6 again.
With half of those guys on the wrong side of 30.
The first defenseman you'd move, if the situation presents itself, is Oduya. The second is Seabrook. Then, maybe, Leddy. Maybe.

Salary cap hits are a number, too.
He doesn't "need" to be dealt. Neither does Leddy. But if the right offer is there I'm dealing Seabrook first.I know. I also believe with the higher cap, you're not going to get much better bargains than what Seabrook brings.
A proven, responsible playoff performer. Not sure why that guy needs to be dealt. Oduya, I can see with his contract.
Yeah it is.
Hammer is a top pairing guy. The guy plays against the other teams top players, is young, on a friendly contract, and will block shots with his face. His value is outlandish to the point other GM's surely dont even ask about him. The fact he plays on the second pairing behind the best pairing in the nhl doesnt decrease his value. It might be a point for message board tards, but not in reality. AND throw in Hossa?

I don't blame Blackhawks fans for saying things like this, especially with the level of success they've had but I really don't think the trade was out of line at all. It riechs of homerism. The Blackhawks have been in win now mode for a while so they probably see Hossa differently but due to his age, your pretty much tethered to his contract for it's duration. Hjalmarsson is a strong defender and someone wouldn't mind having but some of the names being kicked around as a straight up trade are guys like Josi, Phanuef, etc...guys, like Hjalmarsson, a step down from elite.

And even then I would ask for more if i was Stan.Hjalmarsson for ROR straight up is just about a fair deal, IMO.
And i give you Josi, vastly under rated, but The Dion hasnt been anything special for almost five years now.
Yep. 4th most points on the team in the playoffs and he can pound sand.seabrook can pound sand.

Chris Kuc @ChrisKuc 4m I'm told that as of right now, there is still a possibility that defenseman Sheldon Brookbank will return to the #Blackhawks next season.
