Cliff Lee has two 7 year offers for 20M+ a year. The offers are not from the Yankess, Rangers and Nationals. Interesting...

I have a hunch that it might be Chicago's South side team. :shifty:

Ya, I guess you are right. The Sox were the first interested team that popped into my mind and I heard they weren't done spending big just yet, so i made a guess. :)

I'll do my breakdown:

Yankees: Said not to offer 7 years
Red Sox: Were said not to be interested and have too much money on pitchers as if
Rays: Have no money
Orioles: Maybe, but I doubt it as they won't contend
Jays: won't have another big contract on books like Rios and Wells

White Sox: I doubt it as they have enought of pitching and have spend already
Twins: Maybe as they need pitching. But I don't know budget
Royals: Uhhh no
Tigers: Won't go with a high price
Indians: Uhhh no

Angels: They have their eyes on CC and Soriano
Rangers: Were said to not go 7 years
A's: No, they are going after lower tier pitchers
Mariners: Won't spend big on a ball player again

Phillies: GM said that road has come to an end
Braves: Maybe, but will they spend on a pitcher. Their all in.
Marlins: Cutting budget
Mets: Don't want another Satans like contract, going after lower tier pitchers
Nationals: were said to not make an offer

Cubs: Trying to cut budget
Brewers: If they can't afford Fielder, they can't afford Lee
Cardinals: Need money for Albert and either CC or Wainright
Astros: Won't spend
Pirates: Won't waste money when they won't contend

Padres: Don't need pitching
Dodgers: Already spent enough and have enough pitchers
Rockies: Need money for Ubaldo and Gonzalez extensions
D'backs: Going for cheaper players
Giants: Don't need pitching

So, I think the Twins, Braves and Orioles could have made offers in that range for Lee.

Bruce Levine just said on ESPN 1000 that the cubs are one of three teams trying to get Matt Garza.

Garza adds more to this team then Webb would, not only this year but in the future.

Brewers also in, same for Rangers if they don't get Greinke, and Nationals.

Yep, they are, but they are focused on Lee and Greinke.

The Cubs have no intention to trade Chris Archer or Brett Jackson in any trade. Thank you JH!

Hendry on MLB NETWORK said he looking for 1 or 2 moves in the Pitching area. There are some rumors that Cashner could be going to Rotation and they sign/trade 2 RP or they could sign/trade for 1 SP and 1 RP

I think Cashner to the rotation would be the better of those options. But if they get Greinke or someone (probably not, but still), I won't be against it, as long as Castro, Brett Jackson, Chris Archer, and Andrew Cashner aren't touched.
