Concept:Madden eschews going for the first down and throws deep for the end zone with a slew of additions

Graphics:The motion blur effect can be really cool. However, it looks odd from time to time

Sound:Jim Nantz and Phil Simms are a refreshing addition even if their commentary lacks relevance at times. Trey Wingo steals the show with his draft-day player anecdotes

Playability:Niggling issues arise throughout the game, from inconsistent physics to hard-to-reach info in Connected Careers. Legacy gameplay issues are also present. I love the changes to the passing game, however

Entertainment:At times I had more fun off the field than on it, but this edition puts the franchise in the best position it’s been all generation

Replay:Moderately High

why does this come out so late. You think they want this out when Preseason opens up

That was my thought, too.

Last year it came out at the end of August too. But the previous couple years to that it was always the first week or so of August, Idk why they switched it last year. My guess is something about NCAA Releasing first week of July, and they wanted consumers to play that longer rather then rush Madden out. No clue.

I can't decide if I want to get Madden 13 or FIFA 13. I can only afford 1. Leaning towards Madden just because I liked the demo & always get Madden, but FIFA has promised me some sweet things with online club play, playing for your country in the WC, etc.

I got to play the full retail version today at GameStop. It's real smooth. I like it a lot better then previous years, the only thing that bugs me is the running game. The OLINE still looks completely fooled on who to block. Runningbacks also fall down a lot easier.

Played in the tournament today and lost in the Final 4 round. Ed Reed dropped a wide open INT on 3rd down, and the kid kicked a FG with 10 sec left to win.... Yes, Stone hands are still in the game.

The tournament was set up HORRIBLE. You had to use default Playbooks, also couldn't edit depth chart. I have no idea why you can't edit your depth chart in the game, made no sense. I'm done with GameStop tournaments..

Madden 13

I am looking at some of the ratings and noticed that Marshall' strength rating is at 79, while numerous other receviers, whom I don't see as strong have a higher rating. That is one of the bigger flaws that I am seeing. Also, Forte is rated high, but is lower than you would like in certain running categories In case anyone is interested.

This is the most frustrating game ever.... The running game is broke. I know they tried to improve it, but it's horrible. You literally knick someone and your runningback is flopping down to the ground.

The new strafe system sucks too. Pretty much Hold down Y (xbox), but switching to the closest defender takes wayyyyyy to long and by the time it switches, there's no point.
